Beta Bio: general description as a beta reader
I read all the time. Books, fanfics, news articles, anything that is words and catches my attention. I also play a lot of video games and watch T. V. daily. I analyze the characters and really think about them. Thus developing a 'spidey sense' for OOC. Especially watching Star Trek: TOS, with it's multitude of different writers. I check the facts. If something seems off about the character or their history, I'll research it. If it's something about your OC, I'll ask. This usually means you should put that info into your story, too. I can deliver exclusively notes if that is preferred-more work for you in the end anyway. DocX or E-mail, I care not which one. As far as bates motel goes, I got halfway through season 3 before deciding not to watch it anymore. So, anything after that I am not familiar with. |
My Strengths: beta, writing, or reading strengths
Seeing OOC moments. Being a second set of eyes to catch stupid mistakes. Catching repetitive speech, run on sentences, and dangling modifiers. Seeing extra information where it could be worked in later/given through more exciting deeds. I also teach. If you make the same mistakes over and over, I'll explain to you exactly what is happening and why it should stop. Including external websites where you can do your own research about it. |
My Weaknesses: beta, writing, or reading weaknesses
PERFECT grammar. I'm not the best, but can catch anything major and most minor stuff. Editing my own stuff, which means you'll have to be on your toes for a co-write. |
