I took an Advanced Placement English Literature and Composition class my high school senior year, and as a junior I was in an A.P. English Language and Composition class. My teacher pushes my classmates and I to use different and effective sentence structure, syntax, description, adjectives, grammar and overall essay/story structure. I guess you would describe my betareading style as a general read-through to catch the obvious mistakes that a reader makes, and then another reading of the story to see if there is any way to re-structure a sentence or the story to make it more realistic, readable and generally more fun to read. I expect all submitters to be open to advice and constructive criticism- it's only there to help you become a better writer and person. Currently I am a junior at a liberal arts college working towards a Bachelor's in English with a concentration in Creative Writing.

My strengths mainly include descriptions, dialogue, and third-person based stories (a story where one character is the main focus but the story does not use words such as "I" or "we"). I am also good at different uses of sentence structure in order to get the main idea of the story across and/or making the story more interesting. A description for a story, if any person needs help coming up with one, can either be helped along by me, or one could always use a major part of their story in oder to entice the reader into reading more (if you need help picking one out, I can also help with that).

My weaknesses as a betareader/writer include a constant re-writing of my own work- I usually waste maybe five to ten pages of notebook paper trying to successfully write out my own stories and essays for school. This is due to my mind continually coming up with new ideas, descriptions, or something else that could be added to it. Thus as a writer I am generally unsatisfied with my work because I always have feeling that there could be something else added to it to make it better- but that's my own self-conscious weakness. Songfics and poetry are also a weakness of mine.

I am open to going over stories in the categories White Collar, Harry Potter, Supernatural, The Big Bang Theory, Fruits Basket, and NCIS and Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic. I am also open to In Plain Sight, Law & Order: SVU, Yu-Gi-Oh!, Twilight and a few others. I prefer stories, one-shots or a series over songfics or poetry. I am fine with all genres, but I especially like Romance, Hurt/Comfort, Friendship, Family, Parody etc. and I can also do slash and OC stories as long as it doesn't conflict with the "Not My Cup Of Tea" section. Male/male, female/female, male/female pairings are also OK for me to betaread (I have no real preference on a story pairing, really).

Stories including a sexual relationship between an adult and child/teenager (save for Law & Order: SVU stories) and stories rated for children which are not meant for children- I am not looking to get into any serious trouble. Songfics and poetry are also unpreferred, although I am willing to give peotry a shot. I cannot guarantee an accurate or satisfying advisement over such fanfiction, however.
