I am fairly well-read and have had a few poems and short stories published. I am aware I have my own style and prefer certain styles, but am willing to work outside of my comfort zone. I prefer to read short works in one sitting or for the author to have some idea where they want their story to go. I would hope to be treated as an ally, as someone to bounce ideas off of. I would prefer not to be mined for ideas or expected to do more work than editing (I am not the boss, you are the boss).

I am good with dialogue and character building in particular. In relation to that, I am able to understand a wide variety of characters. I tend to focus on the actors of a story most. I can also help with internal consistency. I have a good understanding of the nuts and bolts of writing. I know enough anatomy that I'm not useless with "smut". I also have a wide range of resources at my fingertips, stored away for my own writing, so I can point you in the right direction for your research.

I have an erratic schedule which causes me to be less reliable. I will work in bursts and fits. I likely am not the best option for line-editing because of how time consuming it is. I am a bit of a know-it-all so sometimes I will have to be told off for being tactless. I am also fairly poor at extended action sequences and complicated mysteries.

I particularly love stories that focus on the people within them. In the case of fanfiction, I love character studies, the development of one or more characters to add towards the canon. I also like the challenge of AUs. I like most genres and as long as the writer as some grasp of the material, I can probably help. I would prefer to beta stories within my own fandoms, but this is not a requirement as long as I'm filled in.

As a survivor of abuse, I would prefer not to read anything that downplays the seriousness of this. That means I do not want to read any non-con, particularly graphic non-con, unless the story is about a survivor like myself. Nothing relegated to "kink". I also have a ban on anything that is xenophobic. While I understand characters are not their creators, if you yourself are racist/sexist/etc. I will not work with you. If xenophobia is shown in a positive light in your stories, I will also not work with you. A villain having these traits is of course acceptable.
