I believe in keeping things in depth. As such, when i beta for someone i look at more then just spelling and grammar. I look at the dialogue, i look at the plot, the characters, the structure, the flow of the story. Some things need to be added, some need to be taken away and others changed or reworded. I understand that a person will have a direction that they want their story to go and that is something that is strictly the writers business to decide on but it never hurts to have an extra suggestion or two. Above all, if i take on a story, i make sure that it receives the due time and attention it deserves. Therefore, anything i suggest is going to have a lot of thought behind it.

Alot of times, I've noticed when reading stories that the author will sometimes get attitudes mixed up or do something that doesn't seem likely to happen within a certain character's personality. It's important to understand that every character does have a personality and their own thoughts and feelings. One thing I've been told that i excel at is keeping characters true to who they are and showing consistency to how they would act. It's by recognizing this that you create characters that writers really grow attached to so that by the end of the story, everyone is sad to see them go.br /br /

Spelling, grammar and so on... Yeah. I can do that. Anyone who wants to write should be able to. This little section is more about deeper details so we'll just take that for what it's worth.br /br /

Another thing is time. As a writer, when i have a story going that people are actively reading, i make sure to update as quickly as possible. Yes a story needs due time and attention to make sure it is of good quality but there isn't any excuse for making people wait for months at a time. I know that a writer needs inspiration to be able to write well and if it isn't there, i'll do whatever i can to get you fired up and wanting to keep writing.

Weaknesses... Never a fun subject. I admit, when writing something i need to be inspired for it. If the current situation is boring or unappealing to write, i don't get much done. I need to be motivated which isn't really all that hard to do. I don't think that with beta reading this would be a problem so long as the story keeps my attention. On the writing aspect, it can be a great story but some parts just don't want to be written. I have a tendency to get very involved so that the fanfic is of first priority at the time and everything else is secondary so for anyone who likes to just work casually i can be a little overbearing. I do it because i care about the success of the project but I'm told it gets a little irritating.

Give me something complicated! There's nothing wrong with having something cute and fluffy every once in a while but i need a story and i like it complex. I'm not talking about space time continuum but every basic story needs some kind of consistent conflict throughout.

Futuristic. Not my particular area of interest. Normally anyways. It all depends on the mood. If you think your story is good, go ahead and ask, its just a general preference. More then that, i don't like short stories. If you just plan to write a one or two chapter short story, don't bother coming to me. I like longer work that i can really get involved in. Something i can finish in five minutes is not going to hold my interest no matter how good it is
