Beta Bio: general description as a beta reader
Well, I have beta-read for my lil sis on here, so I'm sorta new at this whole thing. I also beta for the story I Couldn't Help But Notice, You've Changed by reading4eva. I think that the Person who is the writer is the boss. I usually read and add suggestions using different color text, and fix grammar mistakes. For example (using a bit I betaed) my wonderful lil sis, also known as RoseTwilighterDP, wrote "She saw Jonathan die. She wanted so badly for him to be dead, but for some reason, in her heart..." When I went over it I added in different a color text, which doesn't show on here, "She saw Jonathan die…didn’t she? She wasn’t sure what to think at the moment. She wanted so badly for him to be dead, but for some reason, in her heart..." Do you get it? If not just PM me and I'll try to explain better. I only expect one thing from people who require my services and that is respect. I will treat your work with respect and only use constructive criticism. I will follow your rules that you set for me. If you want me to add then I'll add! You want me to just fix grammar then that is what I'll do, but if you don't like how I work, then professionally or kindly, which ever you choose, tell me that you no longer require my services. I don't want to have someone say hurtful things because I would never do that to anyone in return. |
My Strengths: beta, writing, or reading strengths
I would say that I'm good at making things suspenseful, and even emotional in a story. I do pretty well in the grammar department -- I have gotten better as I write more and more. It's always nice to have someone just check for mistakes because usually something you didn't catch the other person will (which is what I do lol). |

Like I said I do pretty well with grammar. I'm not perfect, no one is, but I do my best to get what needs to be done. I can say I'm not horrible so that should be a plus haha. |
Preferred: types of stories I prefer over others
Actually I do! I would prefer to beta for books that I have read, so I can connect better with the character. If I don't know how the character is supposed to act how can I fix anything? So basically Gallagher Girls, Vampire Academy, Darkest Powers, Mortal Instruments, Hunger Games, Morganville Vampires, Twilight, Pellinor, Vampire Diaries, Jessica's Guide..., Study Series, Evernight, Night World series, Wing, Aprilynne Pike, Need, Vampire Kisses, Wake series, Immortals series, Alyson Noel, Deadly Little Secrets, Dark Angels Series...I think that is is haha. I read a lot what can I say? Hahaha. I like all genres so that doesn't really matter to me. :o) |
