I enjoy beta reading because it combines my love of reading with a decent talent of mine - proofing. I will read your work first, get a general idea of it and get rid of any obvious mistakes. Then I will read it a paragraph at a time, from the bottom up, to check grammar and spelling without getting lost in the flow. Then, after that, I'll check the flow and see how you can maybe word things better. I can either outright change your work, but only if you are happy to let me do so, and I'll always let you know what I've changed. Or I can put the correction next to it, highlighting what's wrong in red, and highlighting the change in green.
On the other hand, I'm a quick reader, so should usually have your work done in a few days.
I'm not critical when it comes to editing and beta reading, I try to be as nice as possible, and I'm not blunt in the slightest, I correct people without putting them down.

My strengths are spelling, grammar, and wording things correctly. I've proof-read nominations for awards for a big corporate company before, so I reckon I can handle stories. I'm an open person, and I'm willing to try anything and be nice about it, too.

I'm not great with coming up with ideas, being more of a realist myself. I have a relative imagination, but I'm definitely more of a technical person when it comes to beta reading.

I would prefer anything with decent battle scenes, as they are always interesting to read. I like romance, just as long as there is another genre within that, something exciting. I quite like things based in history, too. I'll give anything a try, though, really. I like reading tragedies, too, so anything you think will make me cry is great too :D

I have a deep hatred of cliches, so mindless fluff and romance is not my cup of tea. A story that's all romance and no action - sorry, I can't do it. Rom-coms are pretty much out too, unless they are actually funny, and not too repetetive. I like things with dark themes, but not really graphic lemons.
