Allright dammit. If anyone out there is dumb enough to want me to Beta for them, then I guess I'll humour them, lol. Seriously though. I'm a fair guy, who has no problem helping out a fellow author. I can be as nice, or as nasty as you like, but I am normally very polite. (Heck I'm Canadian, we apologise for our politeness.) I'm actually not a serious person in real life, but most of the fics I write, and enjoy, are of the more grim and serious nature. So I suppose that would be my forte.

I am fairly good at describing my scenes, using all the senses. I have a knack for writing fairly realistic characters, and realistic dialogue. I research my stories thoroughly, trying to get as much authentic language and technical information as possible. (I'm a tech junkie by nature, so I suppose it comes naturally to me.) Also I observe my surroundings, borrow from real life, and weave it into my works. I am a firm believer that art imitates life. And if an author can really REALLY convince the reader that at least one part of their story is one hundred percent accurate, the reader might be more lenient with letting some pretty big inaccurate stuff fly (I call this The Tanantino Effect)

I'm not the best as far as grammar/punctuation goes. I'm billingual, and still sometimes fall into subject/verb disagreements, and misplace adjectives. (Stupid Frenchiness, messing with my Englishness...merde!) Also I tend to pad my stories with needless info. I end up with a lot of dead weight in my rough drafts that needs whittling down. Also for some reason I write everything in passive language, so in my edits I have to catch myself and rewrite everything so it's in active language. That having been said, I am on alert for redundancy, and can spot other authors' info-dumps now, and strive to find the most "active" way to describe something. (example: 'He threw the pizza.' instead of 'The pizza was thrown.')

I LOVE OC escapes from Raccoon City fics, I love 'em more than I love Mountain Biking, crullers and punk music (ie...a lot) If you have an RC fic. I will read it. But I also like any RE fic. I lean more toward those with OCs, because OCs are unpredictable. You never know when they're gonna get all dead and stuff.I am also up to date on the Silent Hill storyline, and would have no prob beta reading an SH fic. Mostly I like action, horror, suspense (I'm a guy, gimme a break) But I will also read pretty much any genre thrown my way. Got humour, I'll read it. Got adventure/angst/romance/western...why not?

YAOI! BARF! I've got no problem with alternate lifestyles, but that doesn't mean I want to read about two dudes riding each other like show ponies. If your fic has a lot of explicit man love, maybe find someone else to beta for you...sorry. Also, I'm really not too keen on Lemon fics. Not that I'm a prude, but it just seems that unless the explicit sex has a definite reason, it's just gratuitiousness for the sake of gratuitousness. So I won't say "No Lemons!" but I will say "there had better be a damn good reason for the lemon."
