Beta Description
Beta Bio: general description as a beta reader
In the categories that I feel competent to judge content and characterization, I will be very specific about how I feel you could make your content better. I am excellent at English grammar and spelling; I will most definitely be able to help you with that.

I give suggestions in the spirit of helping you make your writing better and more readable; none of my critiques are meant to put anyone down.

My Strengths: beta, writing, or reading strengths
As I mentioned above, I am excellent at English grammar and spelling. I enjoy writing humor the most. I have written humorous poetry also. I enjoy writing dialogue and include ethnic-type dialogue to give a flavor of the personality of the characters. I love the cross-over stories and have written several. I enjoy writing description to give the flavor of a scene. I like to be as logical in my plots as possible, and if my story includes anything I am unfamiliar with, like a historical situation, etc. I try to research it to make it as realistic as possible. I research the TV shows or other media that I am writing about also. I have also written some drama which includes humor most of the time. The drama can have a tragic air about it.
My Weaknesses: beta, writing, or reading weaknesses
In my writing, I sometimes have some trouble winding up the stories. Sometimes it takes me longer to end the story than does to write the rest of it. I am not familiar with some of the more contemporary slang and feel uncomfortable with certain situations that may come up in some fanfics. I am not familiar with some categories and there are some TV shows and books I am unfamiliar with.
Preferred: types of stories I prefer over others
I prefer humor stories; most of the TV sitcoms of the 50's, 60's 70's, 80's some later ones. I also like mystery, crime, adventure, western, drama. I like stories based on movies, musicals or books also. I have a special love for silent films, although I am sure I am probably the only one writing stories including silent or early talkie film characters.
Would Rather Not: I do not beta for these stories
I do not care to look at stories with sexual situations, horror, homosexual situations, abuse unless it is integral to the story (like crime stories) but not over done. I will not read any stories if they offend my religious sensibility. I will not read stories about the occult. I have one exception, I will beta Once Upon a Time stories and possibly other stories if they do not go too much into the dark side. I do not care for bad language. There are probably some things I haven't thought of, but will post here if it comes up. The category "T" is fine if it is given for drama's sake

I am not including games, anime or some of the other categories as I have no knowledge of them.
