Beta Bio: general description as a beta reader
I'll read through the story first to correct any spelling or grammar that I find. I'll read through it again to fix errors I might have missed and to find any addition errors, not spelling and grammar related, like plot holes, or how well something is understood. I will have to look at the first chapter (or more if it's written) before I decide to beta the story or not. No point in being a beta reader when I don't like the story and can't give good criticism. br /br /br /br / br /br / br / br /br /br / br / br /br / br / I'll always try my best to beta stories the best I can and as promptly as I can. |
My Strengths: beta, writing, or reading strengths
I'm not sure what my strengths and weaknesses are but I'm pretty good with spelling and grammar, and understanding of the story's plot. I can give ideas and suggestion fairly well as long as I know what you the writer is looking for. |
My Weaknesses: beta, writing, or reading weaknesses
If I have to say what my weakness is I would say it's character development. I can tell when a character does not fit but I will not be able to tell you how to fix it, and thats only if it is a main character that has easily identified characteristics. |
Preferred: types of stories I prefer over others
I suppose I like any combination of action/adventure/mystery/fantasy/supernatural/suspense/humor/horror, most, though I like a mixture of most genres, add a little romance and drama, angst, or family, and its fine. I don't have a problem with most stories subject matter, as far as whats going in for warnings. |
Would Rather Not: I do not beta for these stories
I don't particularly like heavy romance/drama. It's fine as long as that's not the main focus of the story. I also don't like yuri or f/f stories, again if it's in the background it's something I can ignore and only have to consider as part of the story. |
