I'm a 27-year-old MFA student in Creative Writing. I've been writing personally for about 17 years now, and got started with writing through fanfiction. If you take writing seriously, and want your story to be as correct - both in terms of the writing itself and the world it is written in - I am more than willing to walk you through with that. I expect you, as the writer, to come into our agreement with respect and maturity; I will regard you as a serious writer if you consider me as such, as well as an impartial editor. I am not hear to stroke your ego and tell you what a wonderful author you are; I'm here to help make your story better. I will not play nice just to play nice. I read relatively quickly, with a fair attention to detail.

I keep a particularly keen eye on grammar and spelling. I also watch carefully for the level of "in-character behaviour" you give the characters. Unless the story is intentionally written out of normal character behaviour, I correct accordingly.

I will get hung up on details occasionally, and if I don't understand why you've done something I will ask about it until I understand. If your story is short, I may get more critical; conversely, for longer stories, I may be prone to losing track of where something was going unless given ample time to go back and check details.

Serious stories, with great deals of character depths and exploration, make me happy. One-shots are perfectly fine, but a good well-plotted-out story can do wonders. (I will, of course, read either.)

Humor and parody/satire is entirely not my strong point. While I don't care much about romantic pairings in the story, I can beta from more experience in my own writing with M/F pairings - but I am more than willing to read M/M and F/F (or anything else; if I list everyone on the spectrum, we'll be here for a while) as well.
