It has always bugged me seeing a story with so much potential go up in flames because the grammar makes me want to claw my eyes out. I am very picky about the grammar of my own stories, despite errors I intend to fix as soon as I have the time. I know how to spell things (and even if I don't, I know where to check) and I know where those pesky commas usually should go. I work a lot on how the story sounds as it flows together, and I want to make sure that it doesn't sound awkward and that there is enough description to let the reader understand what is going on in the story itself.

I am fairly adept at the grammar aspect of reading. I can catch small errors you might miss in an initial read-through. As a writer, I make things flow - getting through an awkward passage is a lot easier when the thoughts can ease you around it. I can put that to good use making sure that your writing flows, too.

I can't give good constructive criticism. If your story sucks, I'll tell you. If it has a bad plot, lots of errors, I will be blunt and spell it out for you if necessary. Not that I'm trying to be mean - it's just the way I'm hardwired. As a writer, I tend to shy away from using my own ideas and stick instead with the plot already provided by the source material. Not that I don't have a lot of ideas, it's just I'm more comfortable with what I know - movies, books, etc.

I honestly don't care what kind of story you write. If it's got a decent plot, good characterizations, I'm game. But if you're doing it with the intent to make one character look awesome and another look like a drooling idiot, then it depends who's who. I might feel obligated to decline if it's someone I like being bashed.

If the main character is a female modeled after yourself, no thank you. If you're going to take a perfectly good canon character and destroy that person by putting them in a setting and then failing to take into account what they would actually do, no thank you. If you want sex scenes, no thank you. I know it says I beta for rated M, but that's only violence, language, and gore - no sex.
