I believe that writing is more about conveyance than convention, meaning that a story is good as long as it gets the point across and entertains along the way. However, even a story with an excellent plot and wonderful characters can be shunned if it doesn't follow the spelling and grammar rules. It's sad, but it's true.

But have no fear! That's where I come in! I've betaread one fic so far, with wonderful results. It may not sound like much, but in my opinion the guy improved greatly through my betareading.

Just send me a copy of a Word document with your fic on it (I'd advise you to save and keep the original until I'm done) at my e-mail address (akuhime@q[dot]com). When I finish, you'll receive the betaread version by e-mail with a message telling you the main problems I found. I can highlight what was changed so that you can fix anything you didn't want me to change (that's why you should keep the original), but if the errors are too bad or too frequent I may forgo it.

My strengths are...just about everything, I guess. Not to brag, but I'm actually pretty good at writing, editing, etc.

I can usually just take any random thing and fix it until it's near perfect, but that comes with a few exceptions. For instance, if you hand me a choppy first attempt at a sex scene, I have no talent for such things so you're pretty much screwed. Also, for some reason I can't spell "restaurant."

Let me make it clear here: crack makes my brain hurt. Crackfics, not actual crack. I don't do drugs and neither should you, but if you do I won't judge you (much). Angst makes me uncomfortable, too. As much as I love seeing people in pain, emotional pain just overwhelms me.

Yuri. I don't have anything against it, but me being a girl, it's just a little awkward. Light shojo-ai is fine, though.
