Beta Bio: general description as a beta reader
Hello, I'm SheesterSoho, and if you're looking at this then you're probably contemplating a beta reader. I'll admit, I haven't done this before so bear with me. I am a new beta reader, and if you wish to know more, check out my profile or PM me. I'm said to be very patient, and intelligent. I'm kind, too. I can beta in English, Italian, and French, though I much prefer English. I too give suggestions upon how to continue writing if anyone should be having writer's block. |
My Strengths: beta, writing, or reading strengths
Among my strengths is spelling, grammer, and I excell at accurate descriptive writing. When something needs to be written and explained in exceptional detail ( i.e. backstories, character designs, objects, actions, etc). I also research certain subjects that are included in the story so I know how to incorporate things into the story flow perfectly. I can arrange and/or adjust the story or paragraph so it may be slightly more comprehensible. I can be committed to editing stories, within reason, and can see a story finished within a timely fashion. Historical aspects, scientific, or stories with technology, physics, anagrams, or any type of code/decoding I am particularly good at. |
My Weaknesses: beta, writing, or reading weaknesses
I may go into a detail a bit too much, and am a bit of a perfectionist. Any type of Math aspects in a story may go over my head. |
Preferred: types of stories I prefer over others
I prefer Harry Potter, Queer as Folk, Sonny with a Chance, iCarly, Sons of Anarchy or House of Night, mostly because I know what is cannon or the background pertaining to those archives. Harry Potter is my main fandom, and I will do most any kind of slash, het, or gen. Gore, non-con (within reason, as a background, or the starting part of the story) isn't something I would like to do all the time, but I will on occasion. Any canon pairing (even Harry/Ginny, though I don't prefer it myself) or other pairings I am open to. Any kind of genre I am open to, and any rating. I can also beta in Italian and French, though I am more comfortable in English. I also prefer one-shots, but I will most assuredly stick with a WIP if it captures my interest. |
