Back in my day, this wasn't available, lol. I'm a very honest critic/beta, so if you do not want honesty, do not ask me to help you. However, I also understand how to give a proper constructive criticism so I will never belittle or demean you in order to help you improve. I will not be rude and I have no intention to discourage your from writing. When critiquing, I do a "sandwich criticism" which is when I say what I liked about the story, what I didn't like, and how things could possibly be improved. This method enables learning in a manner that would only hurt those who are hypersensitive to criticism. I'm a college student, so you can rest assured that I have a good background in writing knowledge!

My main strength is content criticism and character criticism. I can usually tell you how the actual story is working or not work and suggest ways in which it can be better. Spotting poor characterization and plot development are key abilities of mine. I can also spot general stylistic issues that could become problematic in the future. Another strength is how I criticize without being rude.

I'm pretty bad at spotting grammar and spelling errors. Unless its glaringly obvious, I will usually overlook it. I'm not even too great with grammar and spelling in my own stories and often I have to rely on spelling and grammar checks myself. However, it isn't bad enough that I can't catch it at all; it just may take a while.

I have to admit, I would prefer stories that have a fandom I'm actually interested in. Also, I strongly recommend giving me stories that are a bit short (or at least parts of stories) because reading on my computer screen is terrible on my eyes and it'll take me a long time to finish. And like any other reader, I prefer a story that is at least moderately well done and well thought out. Mature stories, that is.

Crack stories and troll stories are definitely not things I want to read. I also would prefer not to read any yaoi/shonen-ai or yuri/shojou-ai. And of course, anything in a fandom I don't particularly like (which I don't know many of) or fandoms I'm unfamiliar with.
