I am a casual beta-reader. I will read it over once, to see if there are any glaringly obvious mistakes, then I will go back through and look for the more subtle mistakes. I am also very honest; if I don't like it, I won't lie to you. If there is something that needs to be fixed, I will tell you. I am very candid, so I would suggest that unless you have a thicker skin, you chose someone a little more of a honey-coater.

Spelling, grammar, punctuation, helping with description. I can also really help you to make your OC not be a Mary/Gary Sue/Stu.

I'm pretty good at writing from one person's perspective, and I can keep you so that you stay in the POV that you are working in.

I can also help with scene breaks, and paragraphs. I don't usually like it, as a reader, when you change POV's halfway through the chapter, so I will advise against that. I like to keep a relationship with the person I am beta'ing for, but I would rather have you stay with what you like to write.

Sometimes I will forget what you wrote in previous chapters, so I think you should make sure that all of it fits before you send it to me.

I can sometimes miss grammar problems. Not usually, but sometimes. I can be, as stated above, really blunt.

AU is lots of fun for me, and I like stories with a little romance, but plot as well. As I once saw a reviewer put it, "the romance should carry the plot, not the other way around." I really like it when you start out a series with me, I don't enjoy it when I don't understand what you are talking about. Please don't give me a story where you wrote in all-caps, or text-speak, or no punctuation. I'm sorry, but that just gives me a headache.

M/M smut. I don't know a thing about it, so I can't really help you with that. Smut doesn't bother me much (just because I can't write it doesn't mean I don't know what doesn't work). I also really don't enjoy it when it's a sequel, so that I don't know what you're talking about.
