I am Usagi Etara, beta-reader beginner, and I think it my honor and duty to make Fanfic.net a better,more interesting and creative place for everyone. And with this duty I shall carry it proudly.
First I just skim through a story,just getting to know the actual writing style and grasping the story itself.
Then I notice all the mistakes(grammer,spelling,point of view changes,pronoun usage,etc)and see how I can politely fix it for you.And also how you can further improve your story.
I will beta-read anything anyone gives me,for I think everyone deseveres a shot at a better story and a chance to self improve future stories.
But I will not hold your hand,walk you through,and practically rewrite the whole thing myself.I will give you some guidelines,maybe some specific notes,and some further advice.
I will beta-read and review anything I think is still salvageable,and/or anything I personally enjoy and would like to see improved for my sake and the sake of others.

I think I am exceptionally good at detecting whether a story is actually interesting or not.But I'm not one of those that has really really high standards and thinks everything they do is a cut above the rest. I like slow kinda stories that take some time to develop,but I also enjoy the kind that has a strong beginning to start with. I am very well rounded.

I think my weakness is being too lenient and mellow with people,but if you want me to be extra specific and frank,I can be.I can flame,too(not that I usually will)

I have to say that I like sad stories,tragedies,hurt,comfort,adventure,humorous,etc...well you could say I like a general amount of story types...but my absolute faves are funny ones,or especially the kind that take your emotions and wrench them around...heh heh....sad ones...
But like I said I will beta-read any kind of story,but whether or not I will be pleased with it is entirely up to you.

One thing I will not be happy with is a vulgar,M-rated,profanity-filled story. I think those are terrible wastes of your time,my time,and readers' time.While I beta-read them,I will stop at the first sign of a strong M-rated content. So if you write that kind of stuff,don't bring it to me.
I do understand,however, if you think your character needs more emphasism,and so might use a word or so of profanity,but please don't flail it around like a common "the".
And I do adore romances,but please...no M!!!!!!
