I currently am a beta-reader for MonSangEstMonEncre, I am a bit of a neat freak and I can be very picky when it comes to grammar and spelling. My guidelines for someone who expects me to beta read for them would be that I think they should have at least some knowledge of proper grammar. If I were given something that is an example of the English language being butchered, I would fix it but it would annoy me to no end. My betareading style...I don't particularly have one. I am good at molding my style to the author and I only try and enhance their story, not change it. I feel that their story should be theirs and I should really have no part in it other than maybe exchanging ideas with them and assuring them that they have a good story that follows the rules of the English language.

I have to admit that I take advantage of my Obsessive Compulsive Disorder when it comes to editing. I find mistakes where mistakes would not be noticed and I am normally a very good thesaurus in case a word is being overused and needs to be exchanged. I also have a massive vocabulary thanks to training from my mother. I am alright with things like that. I like molding myself to an author's style. It helps bring out their story without my assitance in changing it. It keeps the story real.

Oh, my weaknesses...If I'm not focused, I can't betaread properly. I can normally force myself to concentrate but sometimes my mind just doesn't work with me.

I do enjoy most types of stories. As I said earlier, when betareading, I mold myself to the author's writing style and try to grasp their concepts and work with it. I can normally take that into my opinion of the stories.

If we're talking about cannon couples performing heinous acts against the other in uncharacteristically harsh ways, I will most likely be unable to betaread your story. Torture is a harsh one that I can only betaread if it is the antagonist torturing the protagonist and not a protagonist being tortured by a lover or something. Well, I suppose we'd have to see. My opinion differs depending on the story itself.
