I ask that you be willing to hear the feedback. If you aren't able to do that, then beta reading is a complete waste of my time. I check for spelling/grammar, typos, sentence structure: all of those little things that cause snags in a piece of writing. I also check for story flow properly, and if it fits into canon. I will tell you what I think of the piece. Please, if you do not want my feedback, do not ask me for beta-ing. (I apologize for the HTML that is showing up; I can't seem to make it go away).

Spelling/grammar, etc. problems are easy for me to find. I can certainly be a 'spellchecker' and a general-suggestion person. I also read the canon over so many times I can usually tell if something is or is not canon. And 'out of character' stories and characters are easy for me to pick out (because I always get annoyed over them!) I am a fast reader and can get the edited version back to you in two or three days.

Mmmm...certain types of writing really annoy me, like a badly-written first person story. I can be somewhat picky when it comes to selecting stories to read. Beware! Sometimes hints and foreshadowing, etc. I don't pick up until I read it over or get to the end of the story, because I'm so into the book.

Canon-compliant stories are preferable. I like third person stories best, but a first person story can be good if done properly. And as to Star Wars, I only will read prequel (or earlier) works. Sorry. Otherwise, throw me the premise and I'll probably beta for you. A PM or email is fine.

I'm afraid I'm not going to beta read horror stories or stories that contain explicit sex scenes (f/f, m/m, m/f, f/m, or other combinations). Sorry! No script-format. If you give me your manuscript I will edit so that everyone is in character - if our interpretations vary, contact me first about what you're trying to do.
