My fanfiction penname is rileyluvr13, but feel free to call me Riley! I'm a pretty experienced beta, seeing as I have done it for over a year now. I've been active on ff.net for more than two years, and I've been reading fanfiction for many more years, so I have experience with both writing and the community. I'm also an avid reader, so I'd like to think that the enthusiasm fuels my editing skills. I can always help to improve stories by finding some type of constructive criticism. I only work to improve the quality of a story, and I expect the writer who I'm betaing for to take a good amount of my advice to heart. On top of everything else, I'm a very agreeable, easy-going, and nice person. Oh, and chances are that if you're taking the time to read this, I'd love to beta for you. :)

I'm a real stickler for grammar and spelling, so you'll be sure that I can catch any mistakes in one of those categories. I'm pretty good at picking out and strengthening particularly weak parts in a story. I also can check for continuity throughout the story, as well as point out plot holes and give advice on how to fix them, no matter how far in the story it is. I'm a very creative problem-solver, so I always have a couple solutions or words at hand.

I can edit in simple colorful writing, but deep metaphors and complex language aren't my style. Also, if I'm not incredibly active in the fandom, I have a hard time pointing out OOCness or details in canon. At times I can sound a little harsh or too nit-picky, but honestly, I don't mean to come off that way at all. :)

I don't really have a preference as to what kinds of stories I like to beta. I prefer it, of course, if the story interests me, but I'll beta regardless. Whether it's canon, or AU, or fanon, or multi-chaptered, or a one-shot, or whatever - I'm pretty much fine with it.
