Alright, I've been editing other people's writing for a couple of years now and I have found that I'm not only good at it, but I *love* working with and helping other people improve their writing. If I am chosen to be your betareader, expect an *incredibly* thorough response. I am nitpicky and a perfectionist, but I believe these somewhat 'annoying' traits help me to fix what you need help with better. I also hate going through and changing things without giving you any notice, so if it's possible, I'll let you know about the changes that I think you need to make.

Harry Potter. Harry Potter. Harry Potter. I'll list any other fandoms I'm familiar with, but I'm the most comfortable working with Harry Potter. (But don't let that change your mind if you're looking for someone to do Professor Layton or something else I've listed. I'm quite familiar with these fandoms too. :D) And with ANY fandom, I'm good with telling you if a main character is acting like canon dictates he/she should act. I've read thousands upon thousands of fan-fiction in my spare time and I can tell if a character is acting out-of-line. I'm also good at telling if a word is misspelled (though, hopefully you're using some type of spell check), or even misused. I take great pride in my understanding of the English language and believe I know how to use it properly. If there's something I'm not sure about in writing (such as if I'm unsure about certain aspects of grammar rules), I will look them up through a reputable source to make sure it is the most correct when I correct you.

Sometimes I'm too detail-oriented. I might smother your writing with corrections. I'm also a very big procrastinator; I'll only correct your work when I have the time *and* when I feel like it. I'm not trying to be mean when I say this, but I correct only when I feel like it to ensure you have the best-edited work returned. It wouldn't make sense to try and force myself to do something when I didn't feel like it because I knew the results would be less than wonderful. (So what I'm trying to say in a better-sounding way is that if you prefer extremely strict deadlines with your betareader, perhaps I am not the betareader for you. If you can be a bit lenient, then we might be able to work something out. I'm just saying this is YOUR story and YOU should decide as you see fit. If upholding strict deadlines for editing is extremely important to you, please DO NOT pick me. I can take forever sometimes, but that is to better ensure that your story sounds the best. And by forever, I mean up to a month or two, depending on how long the chapter is.) I also stink with anything horror even though I love to read it so...if you need help plotting out something with horror, I'm a bad choice too. :P

Anything with a good story line. Do you have one of those original 'what if' stories, i.e. "What if Harry succeeded entirely on his own, without ANY help from his friends"? I'd be happy to help! I *love* working with original somewhat "crazy" ideas that only ONE person has ever thought of. I also prefer it if you use Microsoft Word 2007 or 2010 because then I'm able to use the "comments" feature. I very much dislike changing things without telling the author, so I use the comments feature to let you know what I *think* you should change and then *you* make the final decision about every comment I make. I also prefer you submit your story on a chapter-by-chapter basis as that makes it easier on me to edit. I have ADD tendencies and if you pile 200k of words on me, I will be EXTREMELY overwhelmed and won't know where to start. So, chapter-by-chapter, please!

Original Characters paired with Canon Characters. I devoutly HATE OCs (even though I am guilty myself of using them. I'm a hypocrite! I'll be sure to add that on my weaknesses! :P), but as long as your character isn't a Mary Sue (or Gary Stu), I might be persuaded to help you out. Other than that, I am good with Slash, Hetero, whatever, but no overtly detailed descriptions of sex (and I mean like spelling every act out. I don't care if your characters have sex. Really. But there comes a point where I feel like I'm intruding...even if they are imaginary. I should not be privy to something that should be private anyway!) I suppose what I'm trying to say is no porn. Please. (Not that I think you can post that stuff here anyway. Just in case anyone was uninformed, I thought I'd let you know. :P) Also, if it's Harry Potter we're talking about, I'm really quite stinky with next-gen characters. I know their names. That's it. xD If you're looking to develop them, I can be of some use, but I'm certainly no expert. Perhaps you should choose someone else if you're focusing on next-gen. I really would feel useless if you were to choose me. :3
