Beta Bio: general description as a beta reader
As a Beta-reader my goal is to help people make their stories be the best they can be before they are open to the general public, so that both the author and his/her fans can enjoy the story more. I like to try and not only improve the author's story but also improve their writing style as a whole, so that their stories can be enjoyable, as well as good looking and easily understandable. My expectations are simple, I just want people to love to write and WANT to improve their stories, to me it doesn't matter if you aren't REALLY good at writing, just that you like to write and you want to improve your writing. |
My Strengths: beta, writing, or reading strengths
My strengths are generally spelling and grammer. As some people put it I deal with 'big words'. I also work at having a story flow smoothly, and not leave the reader confused by a sudden change in topic. Along with that I just try and re-word rough parts of a story and work to make it better all around. |
My Weaknesses: beta, writing, or reading weaknesses
Honestly my main weakness lately has been run on sentences, you might see some up above too. Other than that I guess the odd mistake or slip up, like any writer. |
Preferred: types of stories I prefer over others
My favorite stories are definetly humor and romance, along with possible continuations of books. I also like 'alternate universe' stories, were characters take 'the different path' mentioned in the book, and characters in our world stories. I'm also good with anything to do with computer games doesn't matter what, especially oblivion (Elder scrolls IV). |
Would Rather Not: I do not beta for these stories
NO M RATED HARD ROMANCE (S-E-X). Not my type of story. Also I generally don't like author/real world people in story ( except in PC games), those are my only two that I wouldn't want to read. |
