I'll be honest: I've never beta-ed on an official level as of the writing of this profile. But I do write a lot, so I'm not completely unaware of the process. I've read over stuff for friends in the past, and I've enjoyed it, so I figured I'd give it a shot. I expect a lot of my own stories, and yours will be no different. I'll tell you if I feel something isn't ready to be published. If you're just looking for someone to tell you how awesome your writing is without giving any real feedback, I'm not the beta for you.

I'm very good at spelling/grammar, and I can help with plot development and characterization. I don't like to waste people's time. If I don't think your particular story is something I'd want to read or be a part of, I'll tell you. I know I hate it when people just stop responding or leave me hanging, and I won't do that to you.

I can be brutally honest. If I truly think that something just isn't that great, I'll say so- but I always try to be constructive, too. I'll never say, "Yeah this sucks, try again"...I'll give you any help I can in making it better. For instance, one of my biggest pet peeves in any sort of writing, whether it be fan fiction, novels, or newspaper articles, is being overly "word-y" (my favorite example is "Wicked"). If I feel like you're throwing unnecessary words in just to make the chapter longer, I'll tell you.

I think I would enjoy and be best at beta-ing lighter, humorous stories, but I won't limit myself to it. Bring it on!

Unnecessarily smutty, profanity-ridden stories. Slash/incest I won't even consider, except for Henry/Abby from Harper's Island. I'm no great shakes at big action sequences and the like, but I'll give it my best shot.
