After years of peer editing, tutoring in writing, and finally formally teaching writing, I feel no greater pleasure than when I am helping other writers polish their work.

My strengths are in the areas of grammar and sentence structure.

Wordiness is my biggest weakness.

Recently, I’ve immersed myself in the paranormal and horror genre. My original sweet spot lay somewhere around angst, hurt and comfort, comedy, and romance. I think the best works integrate all of those genres.

As a teacher, I’ve often had a difficult time walking that fine line between guiding the writer and implementing my own voice too much in their narrative. I’d be worried to help someone who hasn’t fully developed their story yet - unless of course they want to collaborate on the substance itself (as opposed to revision and editing help).
