My name is AmberAmethyst, but you can call me Amber. This is my first experience being a beta reader, however, I have edited before, and when I do, I am honest but fair. I always to try to include at least one positive comment amongst my criticism, because I feel that knowing your strengths is as important as knowing your weaknesses. I will try to help not only with writing, but the display of the story, such as if I feel a divider in a certain area is unnecessary. Sometimes these small elements can detract from the story. Also, please know that I have read many, many more books than are shown in my Beta Preferences; I just cannot take the time to list them all, and don't read fanfiction for some of them besides.

I can help with the flow of the story. It often helps to have another ear listen to your story so that they can catch the mistakes you didn't see as the author. I also can help with some grammar errors, such as common mispellings, and phrasing your sentence. I can also understand when a grammar error should stand because correcting it would detract from the story.

I am not good with knowing the correct punctuation to put in quotations. So I can't help much with that. I also can't help with poetry. I can write it, but my poetry is awful, and I write for the message in poetry, not the other qualities.

I would like a story that is complete, or something that you are sure you are not going to give up on (unless of course there is an emergency).

I will not beta explicit slash, explicit incest, or any kind of slash+incest(Yes, this means I will not beta Jonascest, which is against the ToS anyway). I will also not beta any pure lemon. There are some stories where a lemon is just part of it, and incorporated as a natural part of life. I can deal with those. Kind of. But not "Let's go in a corner and start stripping!". That's not a story.
