I prefer to read a story through, then go back and match everything up. I've found in my own writing and while helping others that I tend to be overly critical if I go line-by-line. I have matured, though, and am capable of giving general assistance and advice and finding nearly all spelling and grammatical errors. I know a minimal amount of Japanese, enough to correct the spelling for general usage; though, really, it's not appropriate to use a language you do not know.

Easily spotting grammatical and spelling errors; Story follow-through such as potential plot holes; Character accuracy in portrayal; Giving suggestions on making the story appeal to a reader as opposed to the author; and other general writing tips and suggestions.

I like commas and ellipses and qualifiers too much, am overly critical though I try to be nice, and often fail to read ahead.

Naruto, Yu Yu Hakusho, Fruits Basket, Gundam Wing, Gokusen, Harry Potter, Firefly, Eyeshield 21

Crossovers, anything I haven't read and therefore can't check character accuracy, pairings not in the book/anime/manga/show which couldn't possibly happen and the writer cannot reasonably explain, such as Snape/Hermione. This is fairly open. I don't care one way or the other in regards to the gender pairing, though I hate it when writers switch the original gender of a character. *cough* Haku and Blaise *cough* I also do not like and will not read exceedingly depressing or pointlessly depressing stories. I believe everything must have a happy ending as real life does not, so why bother reading if you cannot enjoy it.
