I'm Violetcarson. I don't have any professional experience in this field, but I enjoy reading, and I always like to see what can be done to make a piece of writing better. I can be brutally honest, so much so that it can seem like I'm being unnecessarily cruel. But I'm not, I just want your writing to be the absolute best it can be, and the only way that can happen is if I push for it.

I'm something of the unofficial copy editor of my HS Newspaper, and I'm training to become the Op/Ed editor as well. I've recently had a lot of practice ripping people's work (including my own) to shreds, and then helping them rebuild it into something glorious.

I count myself very good at editing mechanics, grammar, spelling, flow, and anything else you can stick into that category. I do not count myself as strong at editing for content.

I am a very fast reader, and I'm very good at correcting mechanical errors.

As a writer, I have a tendency to overuse commas and adverbs. But I am working on that as well. I also have a sometimes-short attention span. I'm not nearly as good at editing the content of a story, the plotlines, character analysis, etc. I can still do it, it's just not my forte.

I admit, I'm a sucker for a good romance. I also adore action stories, and of course, comedy. At the moment, I'd say action/adventure trumps all. Especially if there's a fantasy element going on.

I can't handle it when there's excessive amounts of angst and drama. Sometimes, it's not flavor, it's overkill. That is that. Also, yaoi and yuri. If you like it, you go right ahead and like it. I will go right ahead and not.
