Beta Bio: general description as a beta reader
If there are random br and /br everywhere, blame my computer, not me. It hurts me a little bit every time I look back at sometime I've written and see a mistake, so now I check things... just a bit obsessively. To be honest, English spelling and grammar is so weird, when people get it wrong, I'm never surprised, because it's hard. br /br /br / br /br / br / Which is why I like to edit for people; because it's very difficult to get everything perfect first time around, and even trickier to critique yourself. Basically, all you need to know about me as a beta reader, is that I have a hatred for wrong spellings, missing words and typos, and that all I expect from a writer is an open mind and the willingness to accept mistakes and feedback. |
My Strengths: beta, writing, or reading strengths
What am I good at? Hmmm. Everything (here you see the wild ego, in its natural habitat)? No, that's not useful. br /br /br / br /br / br / I'm the master of writers' block cures, and I like to get absorbed into a story, so ideas and theories are never a problem if you need help brainstorming- which is not necessarily a beta skill, but is still good if you have a gap to fill. I also write and read 24/7, so I'm available a lot of the time. |
My Weaknesses: beta, writing, or reading weaknesses
I don't see poetry very much, but if that's your thing, I'm probably not the best choice. I can read, and suggest ideas, but it's not one of my strengths. |
Preferred: types of stories I prefer over others
I'm constantly finding new things to try, so I'm not very particular about my preferences when it comes to fanfics. If you really want to know, I have a love for romance, fight scenes, friendship, gore, and sappy/sad endings. (As long as it's interesting, I will read it.) |
Would Rather Not: I do not beta for these stories
Let's stay away from smut shall we? I mean, no offensive if you like it, but not for me. It's not like I'm against it if it's necessary to the plot, and not overly graphic, but otherwise, not thanks. |
