Reading is both my real life job and my favorite hobby. I adore fan fiction, and consider it as valid a form of writing as any other. When I read someone's work, I will treat it like their baby. I keep my comments constructive and will never lambast someone's style or unique take on a fandom. As a beta-reader, I can be as picky or as loose as you ask for, so if you request me to beta-read do be sure to let me know what specific feedback you're looking for or NOT looking for. Examples include: just spelling/grammar/formatting issues; OOC and canon consistency; writing style critiques. If you tell me in advance, I can keep my comments helpful without being overly critical of an area you don't want to change.

I read and edit non-fiction for a living, so by default I notice issues with spelling, grammar, and syntax. As a fan fiction reader, I am passionate about character consistency, so if I'm familiar with the fandom you're writing for I have a great sense of whether a character is acting too OOC.

My same strength is my weakness. I will always tend to be a stickler about characters being consistent. I try not to overdo this (it is fan fiction after all) but if you're writing a story in which established characters diverge from canon and you don't want to hear about that, I am not the beta-reader for you.

I love almost all story types: novel length, chaptered, drabbles, reader-insert, smut. I do pick and choose what AU stories I will beta (see below more examples), and I don’t do horror. I also prefer stories that are part of fandoms I know, whenever possible.

Actual AUs: not just where a character makes a different choice but where all the characters are suddenly in high school, or vampires, or living in the American west in 1860. Also, Horror pieces (mystery is good, scary is good, graphic gore and violence not so much).
