I have an enormous respect for the English language. I hope to work in a publishing house as a copy editor in the future. I enjoy reading, writing, and editing. I am also the editor-in-chief of my school newspaper. I am sincerely devoted to this line of work and I hope to gain greater experience through my stint as a beta here on Fanfiction. I expect nothing from anyone who wishes to employ my services as a beta but an appreciation of literature (even if it is for his/her own). Because I enjoy editing, if a work is given to me it is guaranteed to be returned proofread the same day (depending on length and time sent, obviously), barring extenuating circumstances. If a chapter is sent to me late at night, I won't be able to send it in until the next day. Thank you for your consideration.

The ability to correct or improve sentence structure, grammar, and verb tense is a skill that I possess. I am observant, particularly when it comes to inconsistencies within stories. I have proofread manuscripts before and I am also an occasional writer. So not only am I aware of the physical effort exerted in writing, but also of the emotional process involved. As such, I strive to always show respect, even in my criticisms (which I make as professional and constructive as possible). I do my best to ensure that the story is developed to its full potential (in terms of structure, mostly) and that it can be understood by any English-speaking individual.

I suppose my inability to discern when to use the word "whom" can be counted as a weakness against me. All in all, though, that's about it.

I prefer to beta stories based on works that I am familiar with. This is because I want to ensure that if the story proclaims to follow the work closely, it truly does. Four eyes are more efficient than two. If necessary, however, I'll make myself acquainted with the work on which the story is based.

I will beta almost anything that is sent my way. I've read a pretty varied amount of fiction in my life (some that would make others cry or throw up), therefore I am generally well-prepared for anything that is thrown at me.
