I believe that an outside opinion on your work is always a great thing to have. You know where you want to go with your story - it's all there inside your head, so sometimes you miss an explanation or two. Or maybe you got a little bit excited during the writing process and completely flubbed up your grammar. That's where the betareaders come in, to make sure everything is working before you post it up for the whole wide world to love. I know what bugs me about certain pieces of writing, and chances are it bugs you too. So I`ll make sure everything is exactly as good as it should be. I ask you to be patient, though. I have a busy life, what with school and work and my own writing. It might take me some time to respond, but once I do I will try to make your story the best it can possibly be. I generally do a quick readthrough first, then I take the time to pick it apart, bit by bit. Then I`ll read through it again and fix up whatever else needs fixing. There`s always room for improvement, and these things take time. I will read oneshots, short stories or long and sprawling epics, but the shorter works will probably work best for me at this time. They will certainly be read faster than longer stories. Still, send me a message letting me know which fandom you`re writing for, how long you expect your story to be and a brief summary and I`ll certainly consider betareading for you!

I know how to use a semicolon properly, which I think is an asset anyone can make use of. I'm mostly good at grammar things and making sure there's attention paid to matters of correctness. Sentence structure, paragraph structure and flow are tricky, and I'm pretty good at spotting things. Misspelled or misused words are a personal pet peeve of mine, and I know a lot of other people on this site share that pet peeve. I'm pretty good at fixing up things like that so you don't have to deal with angry reviewers. I'm also pretty good at spotting plot holes. If something doesn't make a whole lot of sense, I'll let you know. I can give you suggestions for how to fix it, but you're ultimately the writer and I'll leave the final decision up to you.

Pacing. I have difficulty pacing my work and making sure everything moves at a good speed. If you're having trouble with that, I'm probably not going to be your girl. Also, when I edit, I tend to make some pretty extensive changes. I'll write things the way that I would write them, and maybe that's not always best. It is your story and I don't want my style to overshadow yours, so if you think I'm taking too many liberties feel free to smack me.

I like stories that read as though they belong in canon. Really just anything with a good story to tell, be it something that could fit in as an episode or simply a different way of looking at canon. I'll also read AU stories if they're done just right. The AU needs to be at least somewhat believable though. I'm also into character studies because I think they allow authors to explore characters in ways canon just can't devote its time to. I will read stories that have romantic subplots, but there needs to be something more to the story. Basically just write something with potential and I'll do my best to help you clean it up.

I won't read smut. There, I said it, that's a no-go for me. I'm also not huge into slash unless characters are established to be gay... I'll read them if there's a plot to it, but if a story is just an excuse for two (or more...) characters to hook up. I'm also wary about stories with graphic sexual content. No, I'm not a prude, but those stories aren't what I'm here for.
