My expectations are that your story isn't a joke. I don't mean a parody, all I want is for you to actually take it seriously, and want the help to improve your story. It doesn't have to be perfect, just be actively accepting of my help, don't ignore it just because you think your writing is the bee's knees. My suggestions are merely trying to help you improve, it doesn't mean you have to listen to all of it, but please keep your ears open!

Spelling and fluency. Also, clarity. I have read my fair share of stories on fanfiction and fictonpress, I have read stories when I reach them and I think, "wow, that was really unrealistic" or "did they use spell check?" Honestly, I understand some spelling mistake (i.e. definitely as "defiantly") because that is often what comes up in spell check. Typos, etc. are other things I catch (mostly just because they bug the living snot out of me). Also, grammar to a certain extend. I know the difference between site and sight; to and too their, there, and they're; your and you're; etc. and I am a senior in high school currently taking AP English, so I have learned a lot/know a lot. I'm going to tell you if the story is moving too fast, if things are completely unrealistic, and if the story has virtually no "so what?" or real direction.

My grammar is not perfect. I will admit that. I don't catch every grammar mistake and I have my own troubles with things like parallel structure. It's always difficult to point out my weak points, but I have to say that sometimes I am not as critical as I'd like to be.

I rather to beta longer stories, not one shots, since I personally feel that one-shots tend to cover a lot of ground in a little bit of space, which doesn't make bode well with me as a writer. Also, I'd rather they not be Angst or Hurt/Comfort, but I am not totally opposed. I also said that I specifically would like to beta Clique, Greek, Hart of Dixie, or Life With Derek since I know those stories (otherwise you could write that the character was abc and I would have no clue that they were actually xyz)

Any story that I don't really know anything about. Really graphic horror, murder, or mystery stories. Also, I really would rather not beta M-rated stories with hardcore 'love' scenes because I am honestly not comfortable critiquing that skill.
