As a beta-reader, I'll read through any pieces given to me several times - once as a general read-through, once or twice to get grammatical errors, then once or twice for comprehension. I am a fast and accurate reader, so it won't take me long to get through anything sent to me. I will read things from fandoms I'm not familiar with, but I'd prefer it if you would send along a basic summary of the plot/characters so I don't have to troll the Internet searching for one. If you forget, though, I will still beta the piece.

I'm precise when it comes to finding grammatical errors, as well as word choice issues - for example, if you've repeated an adjective too close to another use of it, I can point that out and find a good alternative word. That goes for flow as well - correcting choppiness. I can tell what is OOC for a character from a fandom I'm familiar with.

If you're worried that your plot is going at the wrong speed, then I'm not the person to beta for you as I'm not a good judge of plot speed. I also won't be much good at OC characterization, although if something seems blatantly out of character I'll probably notice.

I prefer Batman Begins / Dark Knight over most everything else, but other than that, no real preferences. I'll take almost anything.

I will not betaread Twilight fanfiction with an unbiased eye unless it's INCREDIBLY well-written, because the one time I ventured into that section I almost vomited. If a piece isn't very good, usually I'll be constructive with criticisms and provide tips for improvement. Twilight will usually get a good slap in the face.
