As an beta-reader, I'm only 16, but have been reading FF for a few years now and have just started to get properly involved with the site, so I don't have a whole lot of FF writing experience. However, I am taking English AS at school having come out of GCSE's with 2 A*'s in English Lang. and Lit., and would consider English my passion. I really love reading all stories, whether they are modern fiction, classics or simply FF works and occasionally write some stuff for my internal school newspaper, external journal for the school and am an established writer for the student blog site - www.echoblog.co.uk.
I don't have a specific betareading style but simply would enjoy helping my fellow writer to smarten up their work before publish, who knows who I might help.

I have a critical eye for minor errors in spelling and grammar and have always loved correcting people(!), because I feel that it helps them to develop their understanding of the language. I'm not afraid to tell someone that they have made a mistake or error for fear of upsetting them - if someone requests my beta-ing services then that is what they need to expect.
I feel that I am quite good at capturing characters and portraying their personalities accurately in writing, however this will only help if I have knowledge of the characters and storylines that are involved in the fandom. I am open to suggestion and wouldn't have a problem with dealing with works even if I don't agree with the storylines, ships etc. Finally I am willing to give up time to discuss writing style with fellow writers and other areas of their writing which I think can be improved.

I've not been writing FF for very long so don't have my own adapted writing style yet, which means that I don't have too much leeway with which to direct others with their writing syle - however is there any better way to learn than just to try it out?? I'm generally quite a busy person so might not be able to beta-read stuff as soon as I was sent the work, but I'd be happy to make time for the job if people wanted me to. Finally, I am still learning about spelling, grammar, and all the rest of it as I go, as I have not even finished school yet, so my boundaries still have a good way to be pushed out, so my work might not be flawless as of yet.

There is no real specification which I have over which stories I would work with, however it obviously helps if any beta-reader is aquianted with the original fandom, as this makes it much easier to incorporate/change character description to fit the canon characters. So I would prefer to beta-read stuff that is based on TV that I watch and books that I've read etc, but I'm really open to anything, that's just a preference!

Only really adult content stuff that I would not beta-read, except I have a pet hate of stories that talk about the end of the world!
