First off, my absolute passion is reading. So I always appreciate a good story. That being said, I can be quite critical when I beta. I am a perfectionist and when I beta your story, it will be perfect, or as close I can get it. Now, this doesn't mean that if I don't like where your story is going that I will say that you ought to change your idea completely. What I mean is that I am OCD about grammar and spelling. I also find that form is very important (whether the story flows or not). If you ask me to judge whether I think it is in character, I will do that too. I am the top writer in my school and have worked for the paper as a copy editor for 4 years.

I excel at editing for structure; that is, grammar, spelling, and form. I am also quite proficient at judging content, though I am known to have slip-ups from time to time.

I am a bit out of touch with people. Therefore, I may not always get what you are trying to say. But if you explain it to me, I will usually catch on. Also, I am not very good at judging how other people will look at it. In my opinion, writing is about pleasing yourself; if others like what you write, that's good too.

I usually prefer het stories, with canon relationships, but will also read alternative het relationships as well if you can make the storyline work. I am generally not a fan of AU, but again, if it is written well, I will put up with most anything. Also, I would rather have stories with happy endings.

I generally don't like reading beta with a lot of out-right smut in it. Implied is fine. Also, nothing that is crazy and outrageous that no one would ever believe. One of the first rules of fiction is that it has to be believable. Slash is not exactly my favorite either. I cannot accurately beta those for some reason or another. I have nothing against slash. I just can't do it.
