I can cover basic grammar. Does it flow? Are they complete sentences? (Begins with a big letter and ends with a dot?) I look for content. Is the story good? Does it make sense? Are the characters in character? Does it have a plot? I always know when I'm reading a good story when I'm in the middle of my day and I find myself thinking, "What's gonna happen next?" There should be more fan fiction like that.

Description. As a writer, I can describe anything. Looking for just the right word? I can usually come up with it! I'm decent with dialogue. Which is a bitch to do sometimes, but I really enjoy it.

I'm not a grammar hound! That means I can tell you if a sentence needs to be reworked or if you forgot a period/comma/capitalization but if I can read something and it gets the point across I don't care that it's technically a run on sentence. I feel that occasionally breaking the grammar rules is necessary, and less important than the content.

Obviously I'd prefer to read something I know. I can't tell you jack about the Aqua Teen Hunger Force, but if you're writing Harry Potter I know nuances no one should have in their head!

If I'm not familiar with the world, I'll honestly tell you that I can't help you. But I have no problem with anything else. I.E. Slash and whatnot doesn't make me twitch.
