Hello! My style of betareading is initially as a massive fan of reading a good story. I'll probably read a chapter/ section through to get a sense of the overall direction of the work before I look at it critically - the key thing is, I enjoy reading, so you'll get a real fan's-eye-view! But I do like to be told where the story is going so that when I beta-read it, I can comment on characterisation, possible inconsistencies, etc.

My only expectation is that you're understanding of the fact that I'm still in uni, so may VERY occasionally have to reply a little later than normal, due to academic demands on my time...

I'm VERY good at spelling and grammar, and have an impressive vocabulary! As in, my friends actually mock me for it quite a lot. Also, I understand that writing is highly subjective, so while I'd make comments on how I feel the story is going, I wouldn't expect you to follow every bit of advice - it's your story, not mine.

There is one thing I really have to say: I'M ENGLISH. While I have absolutely no problem with betareading an American fic, I would probably unconsciously change things into UK words, phrases, spellings etc. I really don't mind if you ignore these changes, but if they'll bother you, it's probably best not to use me as your beta. You might actually want the story changed into English spellings, though, or feel the need to check cultural references. If so, I'm your man!!

I'm a Harry Potter geek, really, but I'd be exceedingly happy to beta for any other fandom I've mentioned. Pairings? Well, I'm a marauder fan at heart, and an avid slasher! But I do delve into other areas too. Sirius/Remus, James/Lily, Harry/Draco... yeah, they're probably my favourites. I also don't mind Hermione/Ginny or Hermione/Ron. I LOVE supporting character fics, too - so much more scope for characterisation!

There are some Harry Potter pairings that really creep me out. I'm not a big fan of any teacher/student slash, and Ron/Harry, Harry/Ginny, Harry/Hermione and Draco/Hermione don't really work for me. Oh, and twincest is just wrong!!!
