When I read something over I look first for your characterization of the characters and then I go over it once more to find all the cosmetic errors, things such as misspellings, run-ons, etc. If you have some big dramatic scene where one of the characters bawls his/her eyes out and I feel that this is completely out of character I will tell you and suggest a revision to something more appropriate. I am not harsh, I just make a lot of edits and if you disagree with me you are more than welcome to change things back. If I suggest a complete rework of a small section of a chapter I will also suggest a scenario that I feel would be much more appropriate. if you are unsure of the direction in which you are trying to go I will also try and guide you towards a /

Should you request my services as a beta-reader be prepared for a two-way relationship where I will hand you feedback and then ask that you let me know if you agree or disagree so that I may know in the future how I should read your fics. My biggest strength is my critical eye on how a character is written and measuring that up to how I feel the original would behave. (Do not judge me based on my own writings! I am better at doing this as a third-party to other people's work and not so much my own)br /

The pacing and speed with which your story is running along. If I feel that you are taking the high-speed train through your plot I will let you know that things need to slow down. Nothing is more savory than a story that is well paced! That's why novels are a thing after all!br /

Sentence structure and awkward wording. It's one of those things where I will read and reread a sentence and change it around twenty times until I feel that flows smoothly.

Punctuation. If you over use commas I will not notice in the /

Grammar is not my forte. I will know if your sentence sounds awkward but outside of that I cannot pinpoint grammar /

I am not online everyday so I am not a fast reader, nor am I a consistently available one.

Romance mixed with a heavy dose of angst are probably my favorite stories to read over. Anything with action and adventure. AU stories with a solid plot.

Smut that is there just for the sake of smut, anything involving rape, AU stories that involve some sort of arranged marriage, stories that fall completely out of the realm of what would be in-character.

UPDATE: I will no longer be taking on any beta fics with OC. Nothing personal if you have an OC, I just prefer to stick with the source material.
