I enjoy reading sci-fi stories such as Star Wars and Terminator The Sarah Connor Chronicles, and focus mostly around that genre. While I always love a good combat scene, I pay a lot of attention to the story as a whole and how well it pulls in the reader. I want to be able to see the ways characters develop (if the story is long enough, naturally they can't do that in a one-shot), and I appreciate raw emotion being put into a story. One thing I don't like is a bland, emotionless story. To steal a line from My Big Fat Greek Wedding, it is like "a dry piece of toast; no butter, no jam, just dry, dry toast."

I am best when writing in my favorite genre, sci-fi. I enjoy writing and reading fantasy stories as well, but so far the best stories I have written fall in the sci-fi area. I try really hard to get the feel for the character correct, building up character development and allowing the character to flourish in the story without twisting their personality in the process.

Three words, attention to detail. I don't often expound on every little thing going on, and sometimes this leaves the story feeling less vivid for the reader. I try to mention things I feel are important, or things someone might like to know, but I can't stand writing three paragraphs just to describe the way the wind blows. I want to get into the good stuff, and bypass the boring, useless stuff (not to be confused with the boring, usefull stuff).

I would easily want to beta sci-fi over any other genre, and TSCC over any other sci-fi.

I have a huge dislike for scary, horror stuff. That is one genre I am content to view on the big screen. Everything else is on a case by case basis, unless it is either fantasy or sci-fi.
