I worked as an editor for a magazine for more than 5 years, and a copywriter for more than 8 yrs. Before that I was a paid beta reader at a writing center, checking research papers, thesis papers and essays for college level classes. I am currently a Content Editor. When I beta I look at both sentence structure, spelling and flow but please let me know if there is something specific you want me to check. I can also be a sounding board if you are stuck on a particular scene and that my suggestions are just that because it is your story.

My real life job requires a lot of my time and I like to proofread stories a few times before sending it back, so turnaround time could be a few days.

I really have no preference though I personally like reading action/adventure, sci-fi/fantasy, AU, drama, humor, even angst to a lesser extent. I'd like to know what the pairing is ahead of time so I can look at their character development over the chapters especially if I am familiar with the characters.

I'm not overly fond of Main Character/Original Character fics and Mary Sue fics.
