As a Beta I focus on plot consistancy, compliance to Cannon, and general wording issues. I like to work with the author through im when I'm reviewing and revising the work. I do focus on the cannon of the base work to the point I will have try to have the book (if a book) the story is based on near me for refferences. I can be a bit harsh about plot consistancy but no more than I expect from my own work. I will never downgrade your work, ever. I do expect authors to be willing to listen to constructive critisism, especially about orginal characters. No one wants to have someone calling their character a Mary Sue, and as a Beta it would be my fault too if this happened. Grammar and word usage are also important but most often a secondary concern that is fixed quickly, Thesaurus Syndrome is also a priority to work with also. Thesaurus Syndrome is when an author finds a synonym for a commonly used word and misuses the synonym, its very common and just a personal pet peeve.

I have a real ability to work on wording issues and improving sentence stucture and flow. I have an excellent memory and this helps greatly with plot consistancy.

I would preffer to Beta stories based on works I am familiar with the cannon for or AU for those I am not.
