"Drakon" by S.M. Stirling is a perfect vehicle for crossover stories. Here, Professor John Frink pulls Gwendolyn Ingolfsson and Lefarge to Springfield using his newest invention. Many other Simpsons characters make an appearance. My only regret is that I didn't start off one way and veer into the real story as the show does so well.

The basic concept of this story is that the volcano base of a certain mad scientist (Dr. Hannah Moritz), who was planning to hold the world hostage and all that stuff, suddenly gets transported to another world and another time. They end up in the Drakaverse, where such a thing sets off a series of events that will change the face of the world.
