I'm just a gal in my late 30s, living in the mountains and foothills of southeast Tennessee. I've been married to my best friend for 18 years and I am still. absolutely. madly. obsessively. in love with him. We have three kids ranging from preschool to middle school, AND I teach high school, so my life is, in a word, wild. There are never enough hours in the day, so stress runs high; writing and immersing myself in fanfiction keeps it in check.

Loves: my husband and kids, the red hair on 2/3 of my offspring, reading anything I can get my hands on, sleep, steaming hot bubble baths, the smell of my husband, working out, Vol football, the beach, swimming, kayaking, a great glass of wine, my job (I teach high school and I absolutely adore it. I have a heart for teenagers), clothes, pictures, the South, summer thunderstorms, grilling, bonfires, cats, bird-watching, manis/pedis, my Chacos, movies, TV, Dave Matthews, Jimmy Buffett, Disney World, Les Miserables, flying, Target, our timeshare, rum, traveling (putting a new stamp in my passport is like an instant orgasm for me), conservative/libertarian politics, and lots of other stuff.

Hardcore DISLIKES: James Joyce, liberalism, socialism (see previous), rain (unless it comes with thunder and lightning, in which case I love it!), close-toed shoes, Wal-Mart, celebritieswho think it's cool to get political, laundry, reality TV, cold weather, polka music, whiners, snowflakes who are entitled and need "safe spaces" (Dear God, spare me and please grow a pair. Life sucks sometimes. Deal with it), chapped lips

Fanfic dislikes: writers who beg for reviews and/or hold their story hostage to reviews (newsflash, kids: desperation isn't a good look on anybody), stories that mention two people kissing until their need to breathe becomes too great (uhh...if you write this, you are either a) a mouth breather, or b) a person who has never actually kissed anyone. Why on earth would two people not be able to kiss and breathe simultaneously?! It's called breathing through your nose. Trust me. I've got some experience here), people who neglect to proofread their own stuff before publishing, and, although this is a little bit hypocritical, as I've done it myself once or twice, smut where the author makes mention of the guy feeling the girl's muscles contract as she climaxes. Dude, if you can feel that, you have the world's most sensitive penis, because otherwise, girls would never be able to fake it, and let's just be honest, y'all, Meg Ryan said it best in When Harry Met Sally...we all do it, at least occasionally, and 99% of the time, the guys are never the wiser.

My fanfic: CSI, NCIS, and now Harry Potter. If you read my stuff, you should know this: I like angst. I really do. But...that said, I can rarely stop myself from allowing my angst to eventually descend into fluff. Call me sappy--it's okay. I'm at peace with my inner fluff queen.

You should also know that when it comes to updating, I have two speeds: lightning, and snail. I will either update, like...every day, or...it will be weeks. Sorry. Please remember that I have a husband, three children, a demanding job, and lots of community responsibilities. Also, I love reviews, but I'll never beg for them. Lame.

The final chapter(s) of Thaw have been mentally written for YEARS. However, I gave up, figuring it had been so long, no one would be interested. But having just re-read the story out of curiosity, I have begun to reconsider. I may yet type it all out and post.
