Author has written 3 stories for Hunger Games. Hi, I'm Melanie. Mid 30s. I have a husband, a toddler, and a cat. I live in Maryland. I was never compelled to write fanfiction before I read the Hunger Games. I used to be really into reading Pride and Prejudice fanfiction (I guess Elizabeth and Darcy were my first OTP), but never wanted to write it. Did not have the slightest inclination. When I read the Hunger Games books, I fell in love with Katniss and Peeta. (Okay, just Peeta...but I like Katniss too because I see a lot of myself in her!) I suspected when I finished Mockingjay that there would be a lot of fanfic filling in the blanks at the end of that book. I was right! And there was so much good writing out there that I was sucked in, and for months, I just read. Eventually I started to have ideas for plots, and I finally gave in and started my first story, a modern AU called Goodbye (Again). (I never used to understand the appeal of AUs, so I think it's funny that my first fanfic was one. I spent a long time only reading canon stories - but then one day something broke me down and I was hooked. I wish I could remember what story it was so I could thank the author.) I'm currently involved in a multi-author WIP called The Endless In-Between that is being published under the author name amazingpanemmemories here on FFN. Please look for it if you're interested. All of my other stories you can find right here on my FFN account. One of my one-shots, "Perfect," has been translated into Spanish (as "El novio perfecto") by gigiloera on here if you want to look for that. I used to have two additional WIPs on FFN, Choosing Day and a Peeta POV version of Goodbye (Again). I deleted both of them, and I apologize to anyone who was following. It was a tough decision for me to make, but I lost my inspiration for continuing them. I will not say that they will never come back (they still exist on my computer's hard drive), but I don't want to leave them out there unfinished.
