Author has written 7 stories for Rurouni Kenshin, and Bleach. Anime: Rurouni Kenshin, Bleach, Trigun, Death Note, Ranma 1/2, Cowboy Bebop Manga: Rurouni Kenshin, Bleach, Hellsing, Fullmetal Alchemist, Zombie Powder, Soul Eater Updates by Story: Cautions/Notes: My updates are sporadic, to say the least. I'm in the process of preparing for my qualifying exams and writing a dissertation. Real life for me, therefore, requires a lot of reading and writing that isn't fan fiction. When I get time to spend on hobbies, sometimes writing won't be it. When writing is it, I'll be writing whatever I'm feeling more like at the moment. For a long while, the serious, complicated stuff ("Revolution") hasn't been what I felt like. I'm still not sure it is, but I'm eventually going to finish it, regardless. So no, the stories aren't abandoned; but yes, it may take me a while to update. "To Finish the Revolution": I've got the next several chapters outlined, but I'm stuck on some details that I need to get right for the timeline to work. Getting back into the feel of the story may take me some time, since I like to be as historically and canonically accurate as possible on this piece. Feel free to keep poking me. And many apologies for the--what is it--year long wait. The main point is that this story will not be abandoned, even if it does take forever to update it. "Thirteen Ways of Looking at an Espada": Fact: There aren't any germs in Hueco Mundo. Fact: Arrancar, having never encountered germs, have incredibly underdeveloped immune systems. Fact: Now that they've been spending more time in Karakura town spying on the shinigami, they're bringing some lovely germs home with them. There are some one-shot-like chapters in here, but it largely all follows one plot line. I have no idea what the actual ending will be on this one, but it's certainly grown such that it won't stop at chapter 13. And there's a niggling plot bunny for a sequel, which needs to come after a solid ending. So. If I update anything more frequently, it's this one. "Trading Timepieces": A bunch of drunken Shinsengumi rookies cast a surprisingly successful piece of magic that sends Bakumatsu!Saitou and Himura to the Meiji era while yanking Meiji!Saitou and Kenshin back to their pasts. The premise is understandably a little flaky, but please suspend disbelief. Time travel is usually a little off by its very nature. Inspiration from SiriusFan13 (“Out of Time”) and Shirou Shinjin (“Out of Time Chapters 27½, 27¾ and 28⅞”). Go read them. SiriusFan13's original characters leave me wishing they had been canon characters, because they are so beautifully rendered and full of depth. Shirou Shinjin's stories make me laugh to the point where drinks are dangerous. Less important things: My Thoughts on Rurouni Kenshin: For the record, I long ago watched and loved the first two seasons of Ruroken. I have read all the manga, though I only own a few. I adore Trust and Betrayal. Hell, I love that OVA so much I own the soundtrack. I even enjoyed the movie, though the animation and voicing were just different enough to be unsettling. However, the third season of Ruroken lost me. I found that I really didn’t care what happened anymore, and that the use of “evil, usurpationist Christians” as a plot device was somewhat cheap. I couldn’t bring myself to watch beyond the episode where Kenshin gets his sights blasted away by Lord What’s-his-name, the other expert in Hiten Mitsurugi Ryu. I know he wakes up somewhere and Kaoru asks him what they’re going to do. That’s it. And I have refused to watch the Reflections OVA. For me at least, Kenshin will remain alive and somewhat well as in the manga. So please, if you do read any of my work here, do not complain about the utter lack of third season goings on, etc. For me, that third season didn’t happen. And on Bleach: 1) Filler is evil, unless it's this latest arc which is full of cracktastic-ness. 2) I'm a manga-reader who watches the anime for fun. 3) Grimmjow lives. No matter what anyone may say. |
