Jake Doyle disappeared without a trace, without a warning. His family has searched, looking under every rock imaginable to no avail. Now they must deal with being left behind and in the dark. Takes place during the break between seasons 4 and 5, directly after "What Doesn't Kill You." Part 1: Malachy Doyle wishes he had been a better father.

Jake is in over his head on a Christmas eve case and needs the help of his whole family to save him and the innocents at risk in town.

"Her weak voice called out in a final attempt, barely audible against the drum of her heart. The plea was swallowed up by the wood, and she could feel the last glimmer of hope slipping away, like a lantern hungry for its last drop of oil." Based on 5x16 'Burial'. Complete.

AU. At the beginning of his senior year, Jake Doyle is ready to conquer high school. That doesn't last long. With a terminally uncool best friend and the niece he feels responsible for, it was never going to be easy. When he meets Leslie Bennett on the first day of school, he thinks the year may be looking up. That doesn't last long, either.

In a dire situation, Jake finds that though Leslie isn't alive anymore, she is still very much present. Takes place sometime after "Buried" (Season 5x16). Warning: Character death.

Malachy has a long history with both the Irish and Canadian police. Having lived in St John's for a while he believes his life with Rose and the family is almost idylic. They catch bad guys, get paid for w he's woken from this idyl by a case from his past when his granddaughter's safety and his peace of mind are threatened by someone Mal and Jake thought was gone forever.

"Leslie, I'm standing in Jake's hospital room, but he isn't here. You wouldn't happen to know where he is, would you?" AU Tag to 3x06, in which things were a little tougher on Jake.

What starts out as a series of unconnected incidents soon endangers more than one relationship. When the stakes get even higher and lives are on the line, the Doyle clan and Leslie have to work together to save those they love.

Following "What I Wouldn't Do" and "There Will Be Love at the End", Leslie falls pregnant.

Five times Jake and Leslie pretend to be married, and one time they don't.
