Hello! Hope you are still with me in reading this story and still enjoying it. Do read my notes at the end. :)

Chapter Seventeen:

All Rynn could do was stare. Stare ahead in the blackness, feeling a powerful arm around her, not to mention a powerful body she got pulled up against.

There was no doubt who it was.

Riddick.

She slowly turned her head to the side and out of the corner of her eye saw those eyes in the darkness. Those shined eyes. Another bone chilling feeling rushed through her with a vengeance when she finally realized what she was about to do, what The Lord Marshal almost made her do. Almost making her loose control over her own body. Her senses. Her own free will.

"Don't make me repeat myself, Rynn."

With those warning words she opened her hand letting the needle fall to the floor.

Riddick added more pressure to the blade, forcing her head back even more as her body tensed up. A hand reached back gripping at his pant leg, at the knee, trying to relieve some pressure.

"Miss it that much, do ya? The high?" He was ever-so-slightly rubbing the side of his face to hers, in a taunting way. Can you blame him this time?

"Tsk. Tsk. Even trying to kill our unborn child..."

"Stop It!" Tears forming.

A few more seconds passed he removed the blade and took a step back giving her time to recover, breathe and get her composure back.

She took another deep breath, wiping away the tears as she looked around for him.

"Where are you?" Her voice soft, still a little shaky.

"Right here, baby girl."

She spun her head in the opposite direction.

"You ready?" Wasting no time.

"Where's Kyra?" Just dawned on her that she was gone.

"We'll find her." Riddick assured.

Rynn, running towards his shined eyes, ran into her man's arms. "I'm sorry."

He welcomed her into his arms, wrapping them around her. "No need but never again."

He warned her for the last and final time, even though it wasn't all her fault, but still he wouldn't warn her again.

She leaned in, giving him a kiss. "I'm ready."

"You know what we're up against, right?"

"Yes. Let's go find Kyra and kill The Lord Marshal."

"That's my girl." He said with a pleased smile. This time he leaned in, giving her another kiss, smacking her on the bottom before taking her hand, guiding her in the darkness to do what they do best...

"According to Vakko, my purifier met with success. Riddick is dead."

"Riddick is still alive." Aeron corrected The Lord Marshal.

"Don't test me, Aeron. I could plow you with the rest of Helion Prime. Tell me what I want to hear and I'll save your home world...for last. Are the odds in my favor?"

"The odds are good."

"That?"

"You will reach The Underverse...soon!" Knowing what was to come.

Riddick, in armor, bumped into Dame Vakko as he made his way throughout the ship.

"It cannot be!" She breathed in disbelief. She pushed other Necros out of her way, stopping dead in her tracks when Riddick looked back over his shoulder at her his eyes shinning in the darkness of the helmet.

"Rynn, I'm scared. I don't want to convert."

"I know, Kyra." Rynn did her best to try and comfort her.

"He's here!" Dame Vakko stormed into the room where Rynn and Kyra were, along with Vaako.

"Of course he is." Kyra said.

Dame Vaako quickly looked at her and stormed up to her, ready to strike.

Rynn stepped in front of Dame Vaako and Kyra. "I'd rethink whatever it was you were about to do."

Dame Vaako let out a frustrated, loud scream. "What are we going to do?!"

"I'll tell you what we're going to do..." The Lord Marshal stepped in. "We are going to take these two, convert them and kill Riddick." His attention soley on Rynn now. "Looks like your going to be raising your child alone." He tried to place his hand on Rynn's stomach but she protectively covered the unborn baby with her arms.

"However, no unborn child has ever survived the conversion."

"There will be no conversion!" Daggers might as well have shot out of her mouth at him.

"It would seem you have made your decision."

The Lord Marshal gestured with his head to one of his men to take Rynn and Kyra, wanting to get them ready for their chosen fate. Death.

"Take them to the main hull first." The Lord Marshal ordered his men. "I want them to see Riddick die before they become mine."

"You will be the one to die!" Kyra shouted as a few men took them to the hull as instructed.

Once The Lord Marshal left Dame Vaako wasted no time in ntelling Vaako what to do.

"...I say...give Riddick his chance."

"What do you mean give him HIS chance?"

"Riddick is already here and he's here to kill. Let Riddick, at least, wound The Lord Marshal than you can-"

"Than I can what?! Keep what I kill?"

"That is the Necromonger way!" Dame Vaako working her magic. "But the timing must be flawless, Vaako."

Everybody was getting ready in the hull. Ready to fight. Ready to watch.

Two Necromonger guards were guarding the main door to the hull with no clue that Riddick was behind those doors. But they kept hearing a clanging sound.

Riddick's distraction for the guards to take a look at each other and than slowly turn around only for their skulls to be introduced to his wickedly shaped shivs as he made his entrance, getting a good leap but to be caught by The Lord Marshal continuing his leap onto the hard concrete floor.

All turned their attention to The Lord Marshal and Riddick. Some were swarming Riddick but The Lord Marshal instructed them to step aside.

Riddick shook off that little jolt, looking around for Rynn and Kyra, not seeing them.

"Their conversion isn't quite complete yet..." The Lord Marshal informed, jestering his hand for a woman in black to come stand beside him. He pulled off her hood, revealing Rynn...

Rynn with those eyes. Those light grey/silver eyes.

In that moment everything stopped for Riddick until his blood got to boiling. Until his animal side came to life.

"Rynn..." Riddick barely whispered.

"...Rynn his a bit more conversion to go."

She had those marks behind her ears but, as The Lord Marshal said, she wasn't completely converted yet. Not much time. Evidence of that was those marks below her ears. The thick sword like knives barely made an indention. Kyra, on the other hand, was another story...

"Go to him." The Lord Marshal said.

Rynn made her way to Riddick.

Silence until Riddick broke it.

"Are you with me, Rynn?" That time. That question. You could hear in his voice the uncertanty.

"It hurts, Riddick." She said softly.

Riddick placed his hand on her stomach.

"But it's nothing I can't handle." Rynn, even more softly, so no one could hear, let Riddick know and with those words he knew she was indeed still there and still with him.

"She's fine." She also let her man know that their child was okay too.

It was time for Rynn to step aside and let Riddick do what he came there to do. But before that happened Riddick saw someone else in black, standing aways behind The Lord Marshal.

Kyra.

And by the looks of her, including what The Lord Marshal said, Kyra was the one that seemed to be converted all the way.

"Convert now or fall forever!"

Wasn't going to happen.

Riddick's grip on his knife tightened and he threw the knife right at The Lord Marshal actually getting him on the ear. The Lord Marshal's blood on the blade proved that.

Dame Vaako and Vaako were looking on up above on a ledge.

"It's been a long time since I've seen my own blood." The Lord Marshal said and charged full force at Riddick, knocking him back, hard against a pillar.

Just than Aeron glidded her way to watch.

The Lord Marshal and Riddick fought. Fist punches, when Riddick could get to him that is, the way The Lord Marshal was half dead, he could vanish than reappear in a different spot.

Riddick took a beating but that wasn't even to keep him down, nothing new, even with The Lord Marshal trying to take his soul. Riddick got a good upper cut to The Lord Marshal, knocking him down to the floor this time.

"Nooo...!" Riddick heard Rynn shot but couldn't make it in time and she, as well as Riddick, saw Kyra get involved, stabbing The Lord Marshal from behind. Apparently she wasn't completely converted yet either but she might as well have been becauseThe Lord Marshal threw her back into a long spiral statue with blades. A couple plunged through her body.

With Kyra's sacrifice, that was Riddick's chance. Vaako jumped down from the ledge up above, with his heavy armor. He was ready to kill The Lord Marshal but The Lord Marshal realized what his right hand man was planning on doing. You saw The Lord Marshal's soul run in the opposite direction going for his own weapon.

At the same time, Vaako and Riddick were going to kill The Lord Marshal. Vaako missing The Lord Marshal's body as his soul went back to met his body and Riddick's blade.

Riddick jerked his wrist, the handle of the knife breaking, leaving the blade deeply embedded in his skull. A stiff knee to the face knocked the now dead Lord Marshal over.

"Noooo!" Dame Vaako was heard screaming. Her plan didn't work.

"Now what would be the odds of that?" Aeron saying, looking pleased.

Rynn ran to Riddick, who was holding Kyra in his arms.

"I thought you were dead." She whispers.

"Kyra..." Rynn sobbing, crying uncontrolably.

"It's okay, Rynn."

"No it's not!"

"I'm not ready to die but at least I'm not fully converted."

"I can't loose you, Kyra."

"I will always be with you, Rynn." Kyra slowly opened her eyes. "And you, big bad."

Riddick just kept starring at her.

"Love you both."

"No...Kyra!"

As she took her last breath Riddick placed her down seeing a tear come from her eye. A shined tear. She always did want shined eyes like Riddick.

Besides Rynn's crying there was silence.

Riddick took her hand. "I'm sorry, baby girl."

"Not your fault."

Rynn stood up and Riddick sat back into the chair that used to be The Lord Marshal's.

His eyes peaked through his fingers, seeing The Necromongers slowly making their way closer to him. Rynn's hand went to his shoulders.

"Riddick." She didn't even bother to whisper.

"I know."

But something unexpected happened..for them, well really Riddick. The Necromongers' went down to one knee. Bowing. Bowing to their new Lord Marshal?

With Kyra sadly gone at their feet. Rynn still crying and Riddick hurting from their loss too, realization was dawning. Rynn gave Riddick's shoulder a light squeeze.

"Now what?"

"You keep what you kill..."

End.
