So here is the last chapter of this tale of mine. Thank you for all of the review and the alerts. I hope you have all enjoyed going on this journey with me. Until we meet again…

It was the soft purring that woke him up not to mention the soft paw that kept nudging him in the face. Opening his eyes he fully expected to see his Kitten laying next to him, instead he finds a four legged variety purring and patting his face. Tossing the sheet off he grabs his boxes and put them on before he goes and looks for Penelope.

He has to stop dead in his track at what he is seeing, Penelope standing in front of the mirror in her bathroom. It's what she is wearing that is making him wish they didn't have to go to work.

A baby blue bra and panty set with a matching garter holding her stockings in place. "What are you doing?" He asks after watching her dab her chest with some cream she squeezed out of a small tube.

"Gee, you startled me."

"Sorry I was enjoying the view to much to say anything."

She smiles as he steps closer. "So what are you doing?"

"It's concealer, it covers the bullet scar, the blouse I'm going to wear today is a little low cut."

He steps behind her and wraps his arms around her. "You don't have to you know?"

"I know. It's not just me that wants to forget that night."

"You're a good friend. Kitten." He tells her knowing exacting who she is talking about

She turns in his arms and kisses him. "I hope I'm a better lover."

"You fill this old man's heart and life with love something that I thought I would never feel again."

"I'm glad, I feel the same way." She leans into him as kisses him. "You need to shower or we're going to be late. I already brought your go-bag up. Go on, I'll start breakfast."

"Kitten, just what are you going to make?" He asks trying not to make a face.

"Trust me. You'll love it.

He comes out and joins her in the kitchen just as she is pouring coffee into two cups already on her small table.

"You made Eggs Florentine?" He asks.

"Yes and no, the hollandaise sauce is from a mix. But the spinach is fresh." She answers with a smile.

"I'll teach you how to make hollandaise from scratch."

"Good because I love hollandaise especially on fresh green veggies."

She walks into the round table room and hands a paper file to Reid, before she even moves to take the remote from Derek.

The briefing does not take any longer then usual. They wouldn't be going far just to New York, at least it wasn't half way across the country. The longer she worked the more she came to realize that the world was full of very disturbed people by the time the team caught the unsub. Five women had been brutally murdered. It was enough to give her shivers as she wrote up her report.

The team was gone almost a week, coming home Saturday afternoon, they were so tired and wanted nothing more than a home cooked meal and to sleep in their own beds. They knew that they all had reports to do first. Better get them out of the way before they went home.

Hotch knew about them and as far as they were concerned that was all that mattered the rest of the team would learn soon enough. After saying good-bye to everyone she left having no desire to stay any longer than she had too.

It was the knocking on the door that made her frown. Placing her cereal bowl down the coffee table she goes to answer the door.

"Who is it?"

"Kitten, It's Dave."

After stepping inside and closing them locking the door he follows her back into her small living room. "You didn't wait for me."

"I'm sorry. The thing is I knew you had a lot of reports to finish, and to be completely honest I don't want to be one of those clinging girlfriends."

"Thank you for that. But I want to be with you and I wouldn't mind if you were a little bit clingy."

Looking at the bowl of cereal on her table he makes a face, "Please tell me that isn't what you're eating for dinner tonight?"

"I'm hungry and in no mood to cook and I'm out of frozen dinners."

"Well It's a good thing I brought over food to cook with it should last us until Monday morning."

It is her turn to make a face one of impeding disappointment. "What's wrong did I say something overstep ?"

"No , it's just that Tony DiNozzo and I always go out on Sunday afternoon from noon to four. Tomorrow is my turn to pick we are going to a book signing and then to an Indian restaurant that has spicy vegetarian food."

"So go, have fun and then come to my place bring your go-bag I'll make something light and simple for dinner."

"I'd like that, and thank you for understanding about Tony."

"What's to understand. He is the NCIS version of Morgan, he watches out for you and makes sure your okay. I'm fine with that."

The were getting use to each other learning their likes and dislikes. He was better at reading her tells but reading her feeling that was taking him time to learn. She was very good at hiding her emotions. He knew way she was protecting herself just incase, just in case things once again blew up in her face. What she didn't know was that he was in it for the long hall. Never again would he love another woman like he loves and wants her.

For his middle and final years he found the one woman that he could be himself without having to hide anything. She knew the job, hell she saw more than he did just from working for the different teams.

For all her craziness she made him happy and brought peace to his soul. He learned in time that he had to share her. With Morgan, for a movie when he was finishing the last of his reports, but only when the case was really bad and had to do with children. With Tony DiNozzo for lunch on Sunday that was a standing date. Sometimes he went with her, sometimes Gillian, Tony's wife went too. The four of them became fast friends.

Six months, he knew that the time had come. He wanted to make it official a ring he looked for a long time until he found the right one. He knew she liked wearing big flashy costume jewelry, but the real stuff, the pieces she wore when they went out, they were simple and understated. He picked a lovers knot, that split in two one was the wedding band the other the engagement ring, with a single diamond in the middle.

He brought her to their favorite restaurant for an late after noon meal they had made plans to meet up with Tony and Gillian later in the day for drinks before going home for the night. He was hoping the weather would let up it had been raining off and on all day.

She drank the last sip of her red wine then blotted her lips with care. Her eyes were sparkling or it could have been the lights from the candle that made them appear so.

"Kitten." He says softly then he reaches for her hand. "I want you to know that I love you Penelope, and Hell I've done this three times before I've never been this nervous."

When she started to giggle, silently giggle, with tears running down her face. He blew out a lung full of air in disgust. "May I ask just what in the frak is so funny?"

Hearing this just made her laugh out loud and lower her head. "You are, David Joseph Rossi. I love you and you make me so happy. I'd be honored to be your wife. Can I see the ring now, please?"

He should have known. "How did you know?"

"When you borrowed my birthstone ring, you put the box back in the wrong spot."

He couldn't help but to join in laughing with her. But he was glad she knew before hand and hadn't found a way to say no even before he had the chance to ask, just like she did to Lynch.

He opens the box then slides the ring on her finger. He kisses her hand then signals for the check. "So when would you like to get married?"

"It is Friday and we do have the day off. If you call a Judge you know. I'll call city hall about a license."

"Is that what you really want?"

"Yes, simple is always best. We can have a party next week, invite the team and our friends and tell them, then."

He can't help but smile as she picks up her cell phone. So he does the same.

Finding Tony and Gillian already in the pub they slid into the booth carrying the drinks they bought at the bar. Sipping drinks and sharing a platter of bar nibbles, it was a very pleasant way to spend a an hour or so with good friends.

After the server left to get the second round, for everyone but Gillian, Tony put his arm around Gillian. "So Moneypenny, profiler I an not but when is the wedding? I mean that rock on your hand has to mean you said yes to the man."

"No you're not a profile just a very good agent and a good friend."

" You missed it Tony. They were married today, I saw them leaving the a Judge's chambers. I saw them as I was leaving after I gave my testimony." Seeing he look on Tony's face. One that says I want more facts. "I saw Penelope slip the marriage certificate into her purse." Gillian tells him.

Tony and Gillian raise their glasses. "To Penelope and David may they have a long and happy life together."

"Thank you, both of you." Penelope tells them.

"Now profiler I am, are you sure you should be drinking that Gillian? I mean you are expecting ."

"WHAT!" Tony say in complete shock as he turns as looks at his wife. Then takes her drink away.

"Give that back it's ginger ale remember? I was going to tell you tonight." She looks at Dave and scowls. "How?"

"You kept touching your abdomen, and smiling."

They called it a night soon after, each couple wanting to go to their own homes to celebrate.

Stepping out into night air they pull their coats tighter around themselves the drizzle has turned into a soft rain. Not wanting to linger Penelope kisses and hugs both Tony and Gillian good night.

Stepping off of the curb she tumbles backwards, as a car comes speeding down the road blowing through a red light, landing on her bum she is once again covered with the mud splatter and soaking wet from head to toe.

Both Ross and Tony help her stand up and move her away fro the road.

"Are you hurt. Kitten?"

"Only my pride. Does that count? I'm fine just wet and cold." Soon she is giggling as she rubs her bum.

Tony looks at her and remembers the first time he saw her, he can't help himself as he starts to laugh. "I can wash your hair like last time if you want me too, Moneypenny."

"Not a chance in Hell DiNozzo, you take care of your wife, I'll take care of mine." Rossi growls. Taking her hand he starts to walk away from Tony and Gillian only to have Penelope turn back.

"Bye, See you next week. And no horror movies like last time you picked."

The laughter from all four of them soon filled the night air.

The end.
