Billy felt as though his lungs were going to burst. For once he was utterly terrified- utterly. He actually felt fear for his life. He didn't feel the calmness in the pit of his stomach telling him that everything was going to work out in the end.

Billy didn't feel that this time.

He struggled vainly against the Kranken's tentacle, but felt that overall he was doomed. For once, he had his doubts as he saw his precious red hat, the one that he always had, float above him, to resurface somewhere.

'Mandy... Grim... Please.. Save me!' He thought with desperation. They always managed to do so before he'd meet his end.

Always before. And they could do so again...

Couldn't they?

'I never did say all those things I wanted to say...'

That was the lost thought Billy had before darkness consumed his consciousness.

His hat resurfaced under a small cave, and by the time someone had found it, nothing more was left of it than a few red strings.

Mandy stared down at the water, her eyes concerned and worried. She was thankful Grim was watching Irwin's antics. No one could see her... See her facade fall as she mourned over the loss of her friend.

No! He was not lost! He was fine! He was always fine!

Always...

"We can't do this without Billy, yo!" She heard Irwin wail. "We need him!"

"Shut up!" She snapped, tears threatening to escape her own eyes. "Billy's going to be fine!" She glared at the chubby boy, her dark eyes narrowed. She sighed and looked back towards the water. "...he's always fine..."

Billy needed to be fine. He had stuck with her despite all the harshness and insults and pain she had given him. He stuck with her all through their childhoods. He knew her inside and outside- even if he did like to act stupid and oblivious.

When he was happy, he lost his wording. He lost his coherent thinking because he was just so joyful and excited. But sometimes when it was just the two of them hanging out together, relaxing and waiting for Grim, he was the person she turned to. He may not have been the best with words, but just his welcoming and kindhearted presence was enough.

An image of Billy's grinning face appeared before her on the rippling waters. Suddenly the thought of actually losing him struck her, and she felt a tear slip down her cheek. Biting her lip to keep the sobs and cries from escaping, she stared down at the water...

He had to make it...

Waiting...

This was the last thing she waited for, before she was later swept into the water.

They had just made it through the swinging blades, and now their boats were in pieces. Slowly they began to sink.

Slowly the waves picked up.

Slowly she felt the water tug her down under. As something caught on her feet and her vision grew black, she had one last thought...

'Irwin was right.'

They couldn't do it without Billy.

...I don't know. Wanted something dark I guess? I mean... I really had just wanted to write something involving Billy since he isn't given enough love as the character he is.

And you can't really breath your farts, which Billy had done in the movie, so I'm suspecting him drowning was a more realistic death.

And then later on when they had gone through the blades, the thing that had saved them was Billy sneezing. If he wasn't there?

But goodness gracious... What's wrong with me?! XD
