There is a race of beings pure
Who all have righteous ends:
They seek to stop the suffering
With which all life contends.

They feel no love and feel no joy;
From their eyes, not a tear.
The only thing that they can feel:
A little spark of fear.

They fear a man from far away.
They fear his band of friends.
They fear him since he swore them foes;
Their downfall he portends.

He's hunted them throughout the stars,
No matter where they ran.
But they could not reciprocate;
They could not kill the man.

Despised by all the universe,
the Daleks fight alone.
No refuge save the depths of space;
No planet of their own.

And when one falls in battle it
Shall die as it begun:
A creature in a metal cage
Who never saw the sun.
