The awkward shopping trip

PREVIOSULY ON DWAC:

"To our house of course," I answered. "You're staying?" "Yes Rebekah, Bella and I are staying. At least for now," I answered again. "You can take her shopping later." I told Rebekah. I saw a smile light up her face. "With your credit card?" she asked hopeful.

I sighed knowing this was coming. "Yes Rebekah. Now can you please drive?" she didn't answer and just drove to our home where we lived a long time ago.

3rd POV

Klaus, Rebekah, and Bella were in the car for about an hour before they finally reached their destination.

"FINALLY! Home at last!" Rebekah said with clear relief in her voice.

"This isn't our home for long. Only a few days as Elijah works everything out with Davina." Klaus replied, getting out of the car.

"Who's Davina?" Bella asked timidly. Both Rebekah and Klaus froze, for they had momentarily forgotten she was there.

"None of your concern love. Rebekah, be a dear and take your darling new friend shopping?" Klaus asked, begging his sister with his eyes to say yes. Rebekah stared at him for a second then replaced her poker face with what could only be an evil smirk. One that would put the older Salvatore brother to shame.

"Why of course, dear brother of mine, I would be delighted to!" Rebekah said.

Rebekah didn't move, as Klaus thought she would. "Well?" he questioned his sister. Rebekah only raised an eyebrow and held out her hand. Klaus, knowing what she wanted, sighed and went through his wallet to find his credit card.

"Here, don't max it out." Klaus said handing the card to Rebekah. "No promises!" his sister replied while running back to the car. "Come on Becca!" Rebekah yelled out.

"I-it-its Bella." She meekly corrected.

"Becca, Bella either one let's go!" Rebekah said. Bella shot a confused look at Klaus. He sighed and told Bella "Just get it over with." With his words, Bella walked slowly to the car. With Bella finally in the car Rebekah drove off so fast, that Bella couldn't even put her seat belt on.

Klaus waved them off and sighed to himself

"That should take care of them for a few hours" he muttered to himself as he went into the house that he was supposed to call home.

SHOPPING TRIP

Once at the mall* Rebekah grabbed Bella's hand and went to the first store she could think of.

"Forever 21?" Bella asked. Rebekah gave her a sideway glance. "Yes, have you been here before?" She asked

"Umm No, actually." Bella abashedly admitted with a blush on her cheeks, looking down. "Well we are going to change that right now. Come on." Rebekah said pulling her to a certain section.

Time lapse

"So why are you with my brother?" Rebekah suddenly asked.

"What?!" Bella exclaimed. Rebekah glanced at Bella suspiciously.

"Why. Are. You. With. My. Brother." Rebekah asked again slowly, getting closer to Bella. Almost cornering her in the store. "I-I - I don't know" Bella stuttered. Rebekah stared coolly at Bella. She noticed that Bella had a deep fear in her eyes. Good. She thought. She should be scared. But Rebekah couldn't shake the feeling that the fear wasn't directed at her.

"Who are you scared of?" Rebekah

Rebekah asked. Bella looked down in despair, not wanting to confide in the blonde stranger she had just met hours ago.

"..." Bella muttered so low that even Rebekah's vampiric hearing couldn't make it out.

"Who!?" Rebekah raised her voice, causing some of the customers in the store to give them weird glances.

"Klaus." Bella whispered. Rebekah froze. She knew that something wasn't right. But she didn't want to alarm her brother in fear of his wrath.

"Why are you scared of him?" Bella said nothing. Rebekah pestered on. "Answer me Bella, why are you afraid of him?"

"I-I don't know." Bella spoke in a lower voice. Rebekah had enough and finally snapped. "How do you not know? That makes no bloody sense!" By this time they had caught everyone's gaze. Rebekah grabbed Bella's arm and yanked her into the dressing room.

"Now tell me what the hell is wrong with you!? Why are you scared of Klaus!?" She asked with finality in her tone that told Bella to answer, or there would be a bad consequence.

"I-I don't know anyone."

Rebekah looked at Bella as if she had a leech tied to a squid on her face.

"What the bloody hell are you talking about? You know my brother."

"That's the thing," her voice cracked, "I really don't. All I remember is him. That's all that I remember. I don't remember my life. I don't remember my friends, my family.

I don't remember what school I went to, what my house looked like. I don't even remember my mother, or what she looked like, let alone my father."

She broke down, tears beginning to stream down her cheeks. She wiped them away furiously before continuing. "All I remember is that man. He's a murderer. An old lady-on the plane, he just… killed her. He didn't even show remorse or regret. He just did it. Did it as if it were an everyday thing. What kind of monster is he?" She was gasping for breath at the end of her statement, as if reliving the moment drove her out of her right mind; as if it took all of her strength from going insane.

Rebekah was momentarily speechless. Listening to Bella's story, she realized Klaus has hit an all time low. Then came the anger. The anger that Bella should feel instead of crying in hysterics. She was angry at Klaus. For taking this girl away from her natural life and for reasons she had yet to find out. She should have known something was up. That man was the reason for everything bad in her life, and Rebekah would be damned if he'd do the same to Bella.

"When I get my hands on that bloody nitwit…." Rebekah muttered under her breath, making sure that Bella didn't hear her. "It'll be okay Bella. I'll help you remember. But I need you to do me a small favor."

Bella looked up at Rebekah in a hopeful glance. "You will?" She asked and Rebekah looked down on her with a sad smile on her face. "Of course but remember I need you to do a favor for me. "

"Anything," she sniffed, "Anything you want, just help me remember."

Rebekah's smile was one that seemed to run in the family of Mikealsons': devious and cunning, but not without an ulterior. "Excellent."
